New York Jets linebacker Orlando Pace has been hit with a $15,000 fine by the NFL for an illegal tackle on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick last Sunday afternoon.
Pace was given a 15-yard roughing-the-passer penalty for rattling Vick with a hit on a 26-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brent Celek late in the first quarter.
Pace said he planned to appeal the fine, and didn't even read the letter the league sent him about the fine.
“I
saw $15,000 and threw it in the trash,” he said.
Vick remained in the game, completing 15 of 22 passes for 274 yards and a touchdown in a 45-19 rout.
