Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert said he played most of the 2011 season with an unspecified toe injury.
Gabbert said he sustained the toe injury in a Week 5 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and played the last 12 games with it, although he didn’t use it as an excuse for his rocky first year.
“A lot of fans don’t know what injuries you have, or what things go on. It doesn’t matter if you have a broken this or sprained that. Everybody has those at some point and time,” Gabbert toldl the Florida Times-Union. “It's your job to be out there playing.”
Gabbert went 4-10 as a starter and posted a league-worst 65.4 quarterback rating.
He completed only 50.8 percent of his passes and presided over an offense that ranked last in the league with 136.2 yards per game.
