Hello Bruno Boys Nation!

Mama’s in her first Su Pa Bo!

Historically, I power through the regular season and then choke the first week of playoffs. (Case in point: camp league) But, I made it to the big one this year in the SportsJudge league. Fingers Crossed for this weekend!

Monday Morning Quarterbacking / Backpatting:

In my camp league (my other playoff game), I should have played Joe Flacco (25 fantasy points) over Tom Brady (6) and Tony Gonzalez (9 points) over Vernon Davis (4).  All four of my RBs killed it - MJD, Chris Johnson, Jonathan Stewart, and Beanie Wells, so I couldn’t have gone wrong with any combination in that position. Still, my RBs weren’t enough to carry me through to the championship.

In the SportsJudge league, despite my terrible call in dropping Michael Bush, who ran for 133 yards and a score, for Arian Foster, who despite all the hype totaled a whopping negative-one fantasy points, (don’t worry, I reversed the move for this week), my Fred Davis over Greg Olsen call played out nicely, and solid outings from Donovan McNabb, Marion Barber, and Vincent Jackson secured me my spot in the finals. And you just know Kevin Walter scored a touchdown on my bench only because I had ragged on him that morning on Fox 1370 Sports Radio.

Saturday night, I had my annual holiday dinner party with my LA crew, and they had wisely given us a private room so as not to disturb the other diners with our hooting and hollering. We all watched crestfallen as our beloved New Orleans Saints (we’re all big New Orleans Jazzfest people) took their first loss of the year.

Monday, I watched with my New York Giants’ fan friend after catching Avatar at the IMAX.  Go see it, I’ve been watching one or two awards screeners a day this week (til the Hollywood season) and nothing has come within arms length of Avatar.

Happy Holidays everyone!

oxoxo
