Former Arizona Cardinals tight end Ben Patrick helped rescue a group of people from a van that had flipped on its side in Arizona over the weekend.
Patrick told television station KTVK that he had to move quickly because he could smell gasoline.
"My; first thought was just to help the people on the inside," Patrick said. "I; ran over and I looked in the front window and everybody was laying sideways and I debated on kicking the window in, but I didn't want to get glass over everyone."
With Patrick receiving assistance from others, all those in the van were removed safely.
Patrick played with the Cardinals from 2007-10, catching a pass in the Super Bowl loss to Pittsburgh.
