51. Patrick Crayton (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Atlanta
Realistically, it’s probably only a matter of time before Crayton loses his starting job to Miles Austin, if it hasn’t happened already. Crayton can still produce as the third wideout, a role he’s had before. He’s had at least three receptions in all but one game this season, but has managed more than 44 yards just one time.
Point Projection: 4 points
52. Robert Meachem (New Orleans Saints) @ Miami
Meachem has not caught more than two passes in any game this season, but among his six receptions are two touchdown catches. Against the Miami Dolphins, Meachem should find a way to get open and make something happen, considering their 18th-ranked pass defense.
Point Projection: 4 points
53. Muhsin Muhammad (Carolina Panthers) vs. Buffalo
There’s little Muhammad can do to turn things around in Carolina, unless the team gets a new quarterback other than the awful Jake Delhomme. Muhammad is a steady veteran who plays the possession receiver role very well, as evidenced by the fact he has not averaged over 10 yards per catch in his last three games.
Point Projection:4 points
54. Laveranues Coles (Cincinnati Bengals) vs. Chicago
Coles caught his second touchdown of the season last week, and had a season-high 40 receiving yards. It doesn’t seem like much, but it could signal a step forward for Coles, who has just not lived up to expectations at all this season.
Point Projection: 4 points
55. Bobby Wade (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. San Diego
The thing to like about Wade is that he’ll get you the occasional touchdown. The thing not to like about him is that he otherwise doesn’t do a whole lot. The Chiefs play the San Diego Chargers this week, who are 13th in the NFL in pass defense, and while that shouldn’t stymie Wade completely; we don’t see him having any type of breakout game either.
Point Projection: 4 points
56. Sammie Stroughter (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. New England *At Wembley Stadium - London*
Stroughter opened eyes with his punt returns last week, including a 97-yard return for a touchdown, but he also caught three passes for 65 yards. He has explosive ability, and the Bucs should be losing early, allowing Stroughter the ability to make some things happen should he get enough looks.
Point Projection: 4 points
57. Malcolm Floyd (San Diego Chargers) @ Kansas City
Floyd had a season-high three catches last week against the Denver Broncos, and racked up 51 yards with those receptions. He has a solid match-up against the Chiefs this week, a team he has a good history against. In two games against them last season, Floyd had at least four catches for 65 yards and a touchdown in each.
Point Projection: 4 points
58. Louis Murphy (Oakland Raiders) vs. New York Jets
JaMarcus Russell completed over 60 percent of his passes last week, but he threw multiple interceptions for the third time in six games, though he also threw his second touchdown pass of the season. So there’s at least a modicum of hope here. Murphy has just one catch for two yards over his last two games, but he’s due to make something happen, even if it is just a few catches for average yards.
Point Projection: 4 points
59. Jacoby Jones (Houston Texans) vs. San Francisco
Jones caught two passes last week, which equaled the total number he caught in Weeks 4 and 5. In fact, Jones hasn’t caught more than two passes in any game this season. However, he makes big things happen when he does have the ball, as Jones has scored three times, including last week, and averages nearly 17 yards per reception.
Point Projection: 4 points
60. Michael Crabtree (San Francisco 49ers) @ Houston
Crabtree will likely be starting for the 49ers this week in Houston, having taken Josh Morgan’s spot in the starting lineup. Considering how quickly this developed, Crabtree must have impressed the 49ers coaching staff. It’s impossible to know exactly what to expect out of the No. 10 overall pick, but you have to believe the 49ers will make it a point to get him involved.
Point Projection: 4 points
61. Michael Clayton (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. New England *At Wembley Stadium - London*
There was some hope for Clayton after his Week 1 outburst of nearly 100 receiving yards, but that should have all gone by the wayside at this point in the season. He caught one pass for nine yards last week, and it was the third time in four weeks he’s had one or zero catches. The only reason he’s listed here is because the Bucaneers will be throwing to try and catch up after getting down early to the Patriots.
Point Projection: 4 points
62. Julian Edelman (New England Patriots) @ Tampa Bay *At Wembley Stadium - London*
Edelman had six catches for 42 yards in New England’s shredding of the Titans last week, numbers which made that his second most productive NFL game. He doesn’t make big plays (he hasn’t had a reception of at least 20 yards since Week 2) and hasn’t scored a touchdown, but he will pick up a few yards here and there.
Point Projection: 4 points
63. Chansi Stuckey (Cleveland Browns) vs. Green Bay
Since being traded from the New York Jets, Stuckey has yet to catch a pass for the Cleveland Browns, but he was targeted four times last week, which was second-most on the team among wide receivers. The Browns’ passing game is horrendous, so there’s no reason to expect too much out of Stuckey, but you have to believe he’ll catch a few of the passes thrown his way.
Point Projection: 3 points
64. Mark Bradley (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. San Diego
Bradley is pretty much a known commodity at this point, and there’s not a whole lot to love about him. He’s a guy who will get you about three catches for somewhere around 30-40 yards, though he’ll have the occasional decent day.
Point Projection: 3 points
65. Jason Avant (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Washington
Avant was shut out last week for the first time this season. He hasn’t done significant damage in any game this season, and as such, fantasy football owners shouldn’t expect him to do so this week. Still, he should be good for a few catches and a few yards like usual.
Point Projection: 3 points
66. Sam Hurd (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Atlanta
Hurd had a solid game in Week 4, with over 60 receiving yards, but came back to earth in his last contest, when he caught just one pass for 10 yards. With the plethora of receiving options in Dallas, especially considering the emergence of Miles Austin, don’t expect more than a couple catches for middling yards from Hurd.
Point Projection: 3 points
67. Chris Chambers (San Diego Chargers) @ Kansas City
Chambers caught his first touchdown on Monday, one of his four receptions for 39 yards on the evening. This week, he has a good match-up against the 25th-ranked Kansas City pass defense, though it should be noted that Chambers can disappear at times, so use him with caution.
Point Projection: 3 points
68. Danny Amendola (St. Louis Rams) vs. Indianapolis
Amendola has eight catches for 64 yards over his last two contests. The Rams have seen their receiving corps get decimated by injuries this season, which has allowed Amendola – brought in mostly to be a return man – to get his chance to catch a few balls.
Point Projection: 3 points
69. Antwaan Randle El (Washington Redskins) vs. Philadelphia
Randle El had fewer than 30 receiving yards for the fourth consecutive game in the Redskins’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Whether or not it was the fault of head coach and play-caller Jim Zorn, well, we’re about to find that out, as he lost his play-calling duties. Something tells us there’s more to it than that.
Point Projection: 3 points
70. Davone Bess (Miami Dolphins) vs. New Orleans
Bess simply does not have the explosiveness to get down the field after he catches the ball. He’s caught at least three passes in every game this season, but has not averaged even 10 yards per catch in a single game. He’s the quintessential possession receiver.
