16. Marshawn Lynch (Buffalo Bills) @ Carolina

Last week Marshawn Lynch put up 72 total yards against the strong New York Jets defense, touching the ball more than Fred Jackson yet again. That is a good sign as he gets set to face the Carolina Panthers, who have struggled against the run all season long, something that will please Lynch owners this week as he should have a nice, double-digit fantasy point performance. Have him in your lineup as your RB2.
Point Projection: 13 points

17. Brandon Jacobs (New York Giants) vs. Arizona

Last week was brutal for Brandon Jacobs as he suffered a stinger against the New Orleans Saints. He re-entered the game, but was clearly not the same. He finished with 7 carries for 33 yards; causing heartache in all of his owners.. This week Jacobs faces the Arizona Cardinals’ rush defense, the best ranked rush defense in the league, but don’t let that fool you. Because of the leads that the Cardinals usually have, their opponents tend to air it out. The Giants defense should keep the game close enough to where they will be able to get both of their backs, Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw solid playing time. Jacobs leads the race here though.
Point Projection: 13 points

18. Ricky Williams (Miami Dolphins) vs. New Orleans

With Williams putting up high-end RB2 numbers all season long, this will be a great test as the Dolphins will be playing the high-powered New Orleans Saints offense. Luckily for Williams and his backfield mate Ronnie Brown, Miami will look to run the ball rampant this week as long as the score allows them to. If the score is close, Williams should have a great week. If the score is a bit out of hand, the Dolphins will have to play catch up; knocking Williams to more of a RB3 play.
Point Projection: 12 points

19. Pierre Thomas (New Orleans Saints) @ Miami  **CHECK INJURY STATUS**

The New Orleans Saints went with a three-man running back committee last week against the New York Giants, with Pierre Thomas leading the way with 72 yards on 15 carries. Things don’t get much easier in Week 7 for Thomas. The Miami Dolphins’ rush defense has caused plenty of problems for opposing rushers this year; however, whenever Thomas is allowed the opportunity to get the rock plenty of times he puts an onslaught on the opposing D. This week will be no different.
Point Projection: 12 points

20. Larry Johnson (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. San Diego

While not the greatest effort of his career, the 95 total yards that Johnson put up against the Washington Redskins was a nice sight to see. Will it continue into this week? While Johnson has struggled mightily this year, he is still getting fed the rock on a weekly basis and that should continue this week against a San Diego Chargers defense that has given up over 4.5 rushing yards per attempt and more than 1 touchdown a week. The stars are aligned for Johnson to excel. Use him as a RB2.
Point Projection: 12 points

21. Jonathan Stewart (Carolina Panthers) vs. Buffalo

If you were looking for proof that Jonathan Stewart is healthy and ready to pick up where he left off in 2008, just look to last week when Stewart put up 110 rushing yards and a touchdown last against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 7, Stewart faces one of the worst rush defenses in the Buffalo Bills. This week will remind fantasy players of 2008 when both running backs would have huge weeks for the Panthers. Stewart is a RB2 option in deeper leagues.
Point Projection: 12 points

22. Jamal Lewis (Cleveland Browns) vs. Green Bay

While not very productive against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jamal Lewis still touched the ball 13 times. The good news is that his match up this week is not nearly as tough, and even better is that Lewis should play a major roll in Wisconsin. The Browns only hope this week against the high powered Green Bay Packers will be run, run, run. And Lewis, the lucky winner (or not…?), gets to be the man that leads the rushing attack. It will be a scrappy type of performance which might take 25 rushing attempts to reach 60 yards and a touchdown, but Lewis is more than capable of it.
Point Projection: 12 points

23. Carnell Williams (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. New England

Carnell Williams continued his successful ways in 2009 with a 13 fantasy point effort against the Carolina Panthers. That solid play should continue this week as Williams gets to face the New England Patriots . While the Patriots have been keeping opposing RBs out of the end zone, allowing only 1 rushing TD all year, they have been giving up yards to the tune of 112.8 per contest. As Williams is the Bucs’ main weapon on offense, look for him to get plenty of carries even if the Patriots jump out to an early lead.
Point Projection: 12 points

24. Donald Brown (Indianapolis Colts) @ St. Louis

What better way to continue a solid rookie season after a bye-week than to get things rolling again against the St. Louis Rams’ weak rush defense. With Peyton Manning ailing a little, it would not be a shocker that once the game is in hand if the Colts go to a hard-core rushing effort against the Rams, allowing both Brown and Joseph Addai to be nice plays this week.
Point Projection: 11 points

25. Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins) vs. Philadelphia

Clinton Portis enjoyed a nice Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs as he went for 118 yards on 18 carries. All is not rosey for the Washington Redskins though. The loss of LT Chris Samuels is going to be a major blow for the Redskins offense, which will make the very solid Philadelphia Eagles defense a tough match-up for Portis. Anything more than solid yardage is a true gift this week.
Point Projection: 11 points

26. Rashard Mendenhall (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Minnesota

Rashard Mendenhall had an ok week against the Cleveland Browns as he punched in a touchdown, but his 62 rushing yards left a lot to be desired. Still, Mike Tomlin has shown confidence in Mendenhall, letting it be known that he’s the team’s new No. 1 back. The Vikings post a tough test for Mendenhall, but a solid effort of 50 yards and a score is not out of the question. Utilize him as a low-end RB / flex-type play.
Point Projection: 11 points

27. Ahmad Bradshaw (New York Giants) vs. Arizona

Due to an injury to Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw saw extended playing time against the New Orleans Saints. Bradshaw carried the ball 10 times for 48 yards and a touchdown; solid numbers, and something that you can expect once again this week. The Giants will be throwing Bradshaw out there plenty as their RB2 against the Arizona Cardinals defense; trying to force the Cardinal into a smash mouth type game that the Cardinals have very little experience with. That could make them very uncomfortable allowing both Giants running backs to have nice games.
Point Projection: 10 points

28. Laurence Maroney (New England Patriots) @ Tampa Bay

Sammy Morris had a great start in week 5, so in bad conditions last week he was due for another great game, right? Wrong. In fact, he touched the ball once while Laurence Maroney went off for 123 rushing yards and a touchdown. While the Patriots are too inconsistent rushing the ball, this week presents a nice match-up as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have struggled against the run. For the most part they give up plenty of yardage, so look for Maroney, who looks to be the one that will carry the rock the most, to have a good game.
Point Projection: 8 points

29. Tim Hightower (Arizona Cardinals) @ New York Giants

Tim Hightower continued his successful ways in fantasy football in Week 6 as he went for 11 fantasy points against the Seattle Seahawks. Look for that to continue this week. While the matchup isn’t the greatest against the New York Giants, the Cardinals will have to get the ball in Hightower’s hands some to keep the Giants’ defense honest. Hightower will scrap up enough yardage to make him a nice option at the flex this week.
Point Projection: 8 points

30. Leon Washington (New York Jets) @ Oakland

Thomas Jones was not the only successful running back for the New York Jets last week against the Buffalo Bills as Leon Washington went for 145 total yards; a very solid performance. Washington should enjoy continued success against the Oakland Raiders, who give up 145.3 rushing yards a game. Washington makes for a solid flex this week.

Drop Choice for the season. He had just 1 carry, though caught a nice pass.  Felix Jones had 8 carries and is the #2 when healthy.
