33. Derrick Ward (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. Carolina

Derrick Ward, still nursing an injury, carried the ball a total of 6 times last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. A lot of that can be contributed to the fact that the Bucs were playing catch up all day, but the fact remains that Ward looks as if he will be no more than the second option with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rushing attack in most weeks. That means Ward will remain as he has been projected all season as a solid, but unspectacular play as a flex-option in deeper leagues.
Point Projection: 6 points

34.  Leon Washington (New York Jets) vs. Buffalo

Leon Washington is averaging just over 60 total yards per contest and has not had one touchdown to date. While the potential is there, Washington is definitely behind Thomas Jones on the depth chart. Even against a Buffalo Bills team that is struggling, you will want to keep Washington grounded. He is a non-factor except for desperate situations.
Point Projection: 6 points

35. Chester Taylor (Minnesota Vikings) vs. Baltimore

As usual, just like I have been preaching all year, Taylor is good for a handful of points and has a shot at possible double-digit fantasy points if he grabs a touchdown each week. Well, he did just that against the St. Louis Rams crappy rush defense last week, going for 69 total yards and a touchdown; good for 12 fantasy points. Look for a decent amount of fantasy points once again with the possibility for double-digits, making Taylor a solid flex-option in deeper leagues.
Point Projection: 6 points

36. Darren Sproles (San Diego Chargers) vs. Denver

Darren Sproles could possibly be the most overrated running back in fantasy football. Never has a man with so little going for him have so many people eager to get him. Mark my words, he will never replace LaDainian Tomlinson as the San Diego Chargers lead back as long as LT2 wears their uniform. Sproles is normally good for a handful of fantasy points when the match-up is right, but this is not the week. The Denver Broncos rate as the sixth best rush defense in 2009. Despite Sproles success against the Broncos, he should be kept on your bench. He isn’t anything more than a flex-option in deeper, 12-team leagues.
Point Projection: 6 points

37. Correll Buckhalter (Denver Broncos) @ San Diego **CHECK INJURY STATUS**

Correll Buckhalter missed last week’s game against the New England Patriots, but when suited up, he has produced solidly as Knowshon Moreno’s backup. While it is not known if Buckhalter will be playing this week, what is known is that if he does then he has a great match-up. The San Diego Chargers are no where close to what they were in recent years defensively, ranking 27th against the run, and they should struggle again against the Broncos’ running attack. It is recommended that if Buckhalter does play this week, do not use him as anything more than a low-end flex type option as he most likely will not receive his normal workload.
Point Projection: 6 points

38. Sammy Morris (New England Patriots) vs. Tennessee

Sammy Morris was expected to be the lead back last week with Fred Taylor out, and he did well with a total of 107 all-purpose yards. But, the New England Patriots are not a team that will rely on the run week after week, making any Patriot running back a risky play. As always, sit Morris and any other Patriot back as you could get 1 point or 8 points. You just never know.
Point Projection:

39.  Reggie Bush (New Orleans Saints) vs. New York Giants

Reggie Bush has been banged up some once again, proving that he is what people would call “injury prone.” To make matters worse, Pierre Thomas has continued the success that he was having last year, becoming the obvious choice for the main running back in New Orleans. Keep Bush grounded this week against the formidable New York Giants defense.
Point Projection: 5 points

40. Michael Bush (Oakland Raiders) vs. Philadelphia

With Darren McFadden out last week, Michael Bush and Justin Fargas shared carries at an almost 50% clip. The more successful runner was Bush with 37 yards and a touchdown on 12 rushing attempts - not great, not horrible. This week he faces a Philadelphia Eagles defense that is pretty tough against the run, giving up just 100.8 rush yards per game and just 3 rush TDs on the year, so don’t expect Bush to be a factor this week. Keep him on your bench.
Point Projection: 5 points

41. Justin Fargas (Oakland Raiders) vs. Philadelphia

With Darren McFadden out last week, Michael Bush and Justin Fargas shared carries at an almost 50% clip. Fargas was definitely the worse of the two as he only put up a total of 27 all-purpose yards on 12 touches. Leave Fargas on your bench this week against the Philadelphia Eagles as he will struggle to produce even adequate numbers.
Point Projection: 4 points

42.  Chris Wells (Arizona Cardinals) @ Seattle

Because of the way the game was played last week, it is hard to put a definition on how Chris Wells did as he only touched the ball 7 times for 24 yards, but it is pretty safe to say that Tim Hightower is in no danger of losing the role as lead back for the Arizona Cardinals. Leave Wells on your bench this week as this rookie has yet to prove that he is even worthy to be on fantasy rosters.
Point Projection: 3 points

43.  Jerious Norwood (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Chicago

Jerious Norwood is one of those running backs who has talent, but just keeps finding himself behind a good rusher. Therefore, he falls into the category as a running back that is good for a handful of points but nothing more during most weeks. That rings true this week against the Chicago Bears. Keep Norwood on your bench.
Point Projection: 3 points

44.  Jerome Harrison (Cleveland Browns) @ Pittsburgh

After filling in nicely for two weeks for the injured Jamal Lewis, Jerome Harrison was back in the RB2 slot for the Cleveland Browns as such he struggled to have a fantasy impact. Harrison rushed the ball 8 times for 21 yards against the Buffalo Bills, and it gets even tougher this week as the Browns face the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is pretty safe to say that Harrison will be a non-factor in this game. Leave him on your bench.
Point Projection: 2 points

45. LaDell Betts (Washington Redskins) vs. Kansas City

LaDell Betts touched the ball only 3 times against the Carolina Panthers, adding to a season full of misery for his owners. Quite frankly, unless you are really thin at the running back position, Betts should be riding the waivers. Keep him in free agency again this week as Betts is not a good play even against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Point Projection: 2 points

46.  Jamaal Charles (Kansas City Chiefs) @ Washington

While Larry Johnson keeps getting fed the rock, Jamal Charles still touched the ball 8 times for a total of 63 yards, most of it via the air. He is not a very stable play in any week, though, so keep him benched or on your league’s waiver wire against the Washington Redskins.
Point Projection: 2 points

47. LenDale White (Tennessee Titans) @ New England

Usually LenDale White’s value lies in touchdowns, but last week against the Indianapolis Colts, Chris Johnson suffered an ankle injury, although he did return, which opened the door for White to come in and carry the ball 10 times for 51 yards. Keep an eye on Johnson’s injury because if it keeps him out of this week’s games White’s value soars against the New England Patriots.
Point Projection: 2 points

48. Edgerrin James (Seattle Seahawks) vs. Arizona

While there is no telling if the trend will continue or not, Edgerrin James had more touches than Julius Jones in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. I don’t expect it to continue as his average rush was 2.9 yards - well below the NFL norm. This week he faces his former team, the Arizona Cardinals, but don’t expect much as the Cardinals are rated second against the rush. Keep James on your bench.
Point Projection: 2 points

WEEK 6 BYE WEEK RUNNING BACKS

Marion Barber (Dallas Cowboys) = Marion Barber looked pretty human last week against the Kansas City Chiefs as he went for only 53 yards on 15 carries. There is a good chance that his injury is hindering him more than originally thought. If that is the case and Tashard Choice keeps producing along with Felix Jones when he is healthy enough to play, Barber could lose carries resulting in him dropping to no better than a RB3. Watch this situation carefully. As I have been preaching, if you have Barber this is a good time to try and trade him for equal draft day value.

Felix Jones (Dallas Cowboys) - For the second straight year to start off his career Felix Jones is struggling with injuries. He is expected to return Week 7 though, making it a very crowded backfield in Dallas. Due to injuries with Jones and Marion Barber once again, Tashard Choice has had a chance to show off his skills; and he has been the best of the bunch the past 2 years. Electricity or not, it looks as if Jones will lose some playing time to Choice, making all three Dallas running backs no better than flex-play options until the crowded backfield straightens itself out some.

Tashard Choice (Dallas Cowboys) - Taking advantage of injuries once again, Tashard Choice was allowed to touch the ball 8 times last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. He definitely took advantage of the situation as he went for 92 rushing yards and a touchdown; trumping Marion Barber’s performance easily. As long as he is on a roll and the Dallas Cowboys are struggling to win games, Choice very well could work his way into the rotation.

Joseph Addai (Indianapolis Colts) - Joseph Addai has enjoyed a fairly successful 2009 season as he is putting up about 70 all-purpose yards per week as well as having scored 4 times in 5 games. His Week 7 match-up is against the St. Louis Rams, so don’t forget about him on your bench.

Donald Brown (Indianapolis Colts) - Serving as Joseph Addai’s backup, Donald Brown has averaged 8 fantasy points per week. Considering that it has come in limited duty, that is pretty impressive. With his match-up in Week 7 being the St. Louis Rams, a double-digit showing could be in the works.

Ronnie Brown (Miami Dolphins) - Ronnie Brown heads into his bye-week on a high note. After being a huge part of the Miami Dolphins win over the New York Jets on Monday night his stat totals are an average of triple-digit yards as well as 6 total touchdowns. In Week 7, he faces the New Orleans Saints, so a continuance of a very nice season is expected.

Ricky Williams (Miami Dolphins) - Ricky Williams has officially played himself into a low end RB2 or high end RB3 role, as he is averaging more than a 100 yards per game and nearly a touchdown. While his production says high-end RB2, it is hard to believe that both Ronnie Brown and Williams will be able to keep this pace up. But, we aren’t putting it past them.

Frank Gore (San Francisco 49ers) - Before getting injured Frank Gore was one of the better running backs in fantasy football. A bye-week couldn’t have come at a better time for his owners as after resting another full week, Gore will have a shot at coming back against the Houston Texans in Week 7; a horrible rush defense. Keep him on your radar and stay tuned to the Bruno Boys to get the latest on whether or not Gore will be a go after the bye.

Glen Coffee (San Francisco 49ers) - Glen Coffee has been solid but not great as the fill in for the inured Frank Gore. While he will lose his starting role once Gore comes back, in this brutal game you don’t want to forget about who steps up when need be. Coffee is one of them as he just put up 66 yards and a touchdown. If you are a Gore owner, he must be on your roster once/if he becomes available.
