WIDE RECEIVERS - PICK THEM UP

Kenny Britt (Tennessee Titans)

Not a whole lot has gone right for the Tennessee Titans this year but one bright spot has been rookie wide receiver Kenny Britt. Britt has looked good early in the season, especially this past week as he caught seven passes for 105 yards in the loss to the Jaguars. Britt is a receiver on a run-heavy team with a mediocre quarterback so for now his value is limited. But for those in deeper leagues seeking a receiver, Britt is definitely one guy to look at.

Mohamed Massaquoi (Cleveland Browns)

Another rookie wide receiver who has looked good is Cleveland’s Mohamed Massaquoi. Heading into the season a lot of people assumed it would be fellow rookie Brian Robiskie that stepped up at wide receiver but that has not been the case. Massaquoi made a strong statement in the Browns’ loss to Cincinnati as he caught eight passes for 148 yards. Still, he is a rookie and is on a team with a bad offense and a terrible quarterback situation, so Massaquoi should only be looked at in deeper leagues.

TIGHT ENDS - PICK THEM UP

Sean Ryan (Kansas City Chiefs)

The Kansas City Chiefs have needed somebody to step up at tight end following the trade of Tony Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. After this week’s loss to the New York Giants, they may have found their man in Sean Ryan. In that game, Ryan caught five passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. The week before, he caught four passes, so the Chiefs are trying to get him involved in the offense. Still, Ryan won’t be mistaken for Gonzalez anytime soon and is stuck on a less than stellar offense so for now he should only be considered in the deepest of leagues.

KICKERS - PICK THEM UP

Josh Scobee (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Kickers are a dime a dozen and chances are you already have a good one. But, if you don’t, or if you’re looking for somebody to fill in for a player on a bye week, Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee would be a decent option. The Jaguars offense is improving and that showed as Scobee hit three field goals with a long of 50 and also hit on all four of his extra point attempts.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS - PICK THEM UP

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints defense is not a joke anymore. The Saints have made a bunch of additions to the defensive side of the ball in the last few years and it’s paid off. The Saints are extremely good at getting to the ball, and in the win over the New York Jets, they picked off quarterback Mark Sanchez three times, with one of those being returned 99 yards for a touchdown. The Saints defense would make for a good pickup in any league.
