13. Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys) @ Denver
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo played well in the win over the Carolina Panthers as he demonstrated patience and good decision-making in the pocket. Romo sort of has this Jekyll-and-Hyde thing going on this season, but as the Dallas offense begins to figure itself out in the post-T.O. era, you could expect some solid games from Romo. The problem is that without Owens, Romo has struggled to throw touchdown passes and that severely hurts his value as a fantasy football quarterback.
Point Projection: 13 Points
14. Kyle Orton (Denver Broncos) vs. Dallas
For as tumultuous of an off-season as the Denver Broncos had, it’s starting to look like they knew what they were doing all along. The Broncos are 3-0 and quarterback Kyle Orton has thrown a touchdown in each game so far. But, perhaps the most surprising thing about Orton is that he’s yet to throw an interception. In each of the first three weeks, Orton has hovered around 12-13 points from a fantasy perspective, so expect a similar performance against Dallas in week four.
Point Projection: 13 Points
15. Joe Flacco (Baltimore Ravens) @ New England
Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco has started out the season really well and has had some good fantasy football performances. But two of those games came against weak pass defenses in the Chiefs and the Browns. Flacco’s challenge is much bigger this week as he must play at New England. Flacco won’t have a terrible game because he is a good quarterback, but you should temper your expectations of him this week.
Point Projection: 12 Points
16. Mark Sanchez (New York Jets) @ New Orleans
New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez certainly hasn’t played like a rookie and that’s been a big reason the team is off to a 3-0 start. Each week Sanchez has registered at least double-digit fantasy football points, highlighted by his three-touchdown (two passing, one rushing) performance last week in a win over the Tennessee Titans. Let’s not get too high on Sanchez yet. He’ll be playing on the road in the Superdome against a New Orleans defense that’s intercepted seven passes and recovered two fumbles.
Point Projection: 12 Points
17. Shaun Hill (San Francisco 49ers) vs. St. Louis
The 49ers are clearly a different - and tougher - team under the guidance of head coach Mike Singletary though that hasn’t translated to a high-powered offense. Quarterback Shaun Hill has been solid so far with just one interception in the first three weeks, but for now he is more of a game manager. Even though he’s going against a defense that’s 25th against the pass and 25th in points allowed, you still shouldn’t expect a big game from Hill.
Point Projection: 11 Points
18. Jason Campbell (Washington Redskins) vs. Tampa Bay
This has to be the low point for the Washington Redskins in the last few years as the team lost to the Detroit Lions. From a fantasy perspective, Campbell had a good day, but the real stats tell a much more grim story. Campbell did have two touchdowns against the Lions, but he also threw an interception and fumbled twice. That’s why even though he’s facing one of the league’s worst defenses in the Buccaneers this week that Campbell is still not expected to have a good day.
Point Projection: 11 Points
19. Kyle Boller/Marc Bulger (St. Louis Rams) @ San Francisco
After St. Louis Rams starting quarterback Marc Bulger left the game last week with a bruised shoulder, backup Kyle Boller took over and did an admirable job as he threw for 164 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in a loss to the Packers. At the time these rankings were finished, it was unclear whether Bulger would get the start in week four. It’s clear though that Boller is wanted back at quarterback for the Rams as fans and media are campaigning for him to play over Bulger. Should Boller play against the 49ers he should alright. If Bulger starts, then expect single-digit fantasy football points.
Point Projection: 11 Points
20. David Garrard (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Tennessee
The last two weeks have been kind to Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard from a fantasy football perspective, and he has a favorable match-up this week against the Tennessee Titans defense that is 28th in the league against the pass. However, it’s unlikely that a team as talented as the Titans will start the season 0-4 and that will directly affect Garrard’s performance. Tennessee feels like it has something to prove this week, and that’s not a good thing for Garrard.
Point Projection: 10 Points
21. Kerry Collins (Tennessee Titans) @ Jacksonville
The thing about Tennessee quarterback Kerry Collins that we like, from a fantasy football perspective, is he’s pretty consistent. You know Collins is going to throw for about 200 yards with one touchdown and one interception each week. The bad thing is those stats aren’t too good unless you’re in a deep league or a two-quarterback league.
Point Projection: 10 Points
22. Seneca Wallace (Seattle Seahawks) @ Indianapolis
At this point it appears Seattle Seahawks starter Matt Hasselbeck won’t be able to play in week four, giving Seneca Wallace a second consecutive start. For Seahawks fans that’s not a good thing as Wallace was all over the place last week in a loss to the Bears. It won’t get any easier this week as he faces the Colts on the road.
Point Projection: 9 Points
23. Matthew Stafford (Detroit Lions) @ Chicago
Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford achieved two firsts in the win over the Redskins last week. Not only was it his first win as a Lion - as well as the team’s first in 19 games - but it was also the first double-digit fantasy football performance of his career as he threw for 241 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. That’s all well and good, but the Bears will bring Stafford and the Lions back to earth.
Point Projection: 8 Points
24. Matt Cassel (Kansas City Chiefs) vs. New York Giants
Against a good Philadelphia Eagles defense last week, Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel managed to throw for just 90 yards. His two touchdowns offset that, but you shouldn’t expect the same this week against an aggressive Giants defense that should have no trouble getting past a young Chiefs offensive line.
Point Projection: 7 Points
25. JaMarcus Russell (Oakland Raiders) @ Houston
Things have gone from mediocre to bad to worse for the Oakland Raiders and quarterback JaMarcus Russell. Russell threw for just 60 yards and had two interceptions with no touchdowns last week in a loss to the Broncos. Things may be slightly better this week as the Texans rank 29th in the league in points allowed.
Point Projection: 6 Points
26. Brady Quinn/Derek Anderson (Cleveland Browns) vs. Cincinnati
After Quinn struggled in the opening of last week’s loss to the Ravens, he was replaced by Anderson, who finished the day with three interceptions. Head coach Eric Mangini said the Browns are going back to their quarterback competition and has not named a starter for week four. Either way it shouldn’t matter as neither one will have a good game against the Bengals.
Point Projection: 6 Points
27. Chad Henne (Miami Dolphins) vs. Buffalo
Reports coming out of Miami suggest starting quarterback Chad Pennington is done for the season with a shoulder injury, which means Chad Henne is the new starter for the Dolphins. Henne looked very raw when he went into the game for the Pennington in week three, so don’t expect much against Buffalo even though the Bills are missing two key members of their secondary.
Point Projection: 5 Points
28. Josh Johnson (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Washington
Frustrated by the play of starter Byron Leftwich, Tampa Bay head coach Raheem Morris has named Josh Johnson as the new starter. Leftwich has since been demoted to third string while rookie Josh Freeman is now the backup. Johnson, who was a fifth-round draft pick last year, completed 4 of his 10 passes last week after replacing Leftwich. He is athletic but very raw so you should stay away at all costs.
Point Projection: 4 Points
WEEK 4 BYE WEEK QUARTERBACKS
Jake Delhomme (Carolina Panthers)
With the way the season has gone so far for Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme a bye week now is just what he needed. It remains to be seen if he’ll benefit from it.
Donovan McNabb/Kevin Kolb (Philadelphia Eagles)
Kevin Kolb filled in admirably as the Philadelphia quarterback, but it appears Donovan McNabb will be ready to come back in week five. Either way the Eagles offense will continue to roll.
Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons)
The season had been going so well for Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan until he ran into the New England defense last week.
Kurt Warner (Arizona Cardinals)
Considering the fact that Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner was under so much pressure from the Indianapolis defensive line he didn’t play completely terrible last week. Still, the Cardinals offensive line needs to get it together if Warner is to have a good season.

Dave - Go with Tony Romo. Like you said neither have a great match-up but Romo and the Cowboys looked efficient in the 2nd half of last week and I feel that translates into this Week 4 showdown with Denver. The ceilings arent super high on either option but Romo is the better play maker and I personally think that Denver defense is overrated (they haven’t played anyone).
Best of Luck in Week 4

Bernard,
When all is equal you have to use your gut to make the decision as you are the owner and the one that has to ride the roller coaster. Earlier in the week I was favoring Brady over Schaub by slight margains but as the week has progressed I now give the slight edge to Schaub (1-2 fantasy points).
Like I said it truly is a gut call on your part as both options are set to have similar weeks, as you can see by our one point difference in the Week 4 rankings.
Best of Luck.

Hey guys,
I have Favre or Hill to pick from this week since Warner is on a bye week. I’m leaning towards Hill but my gut tells me to start Favre. The projections for who will get the most points are split. In my league QB’s get .50 points per completion and lose .20 points per in-complete. PLEASE HELP.
