17. Mason Crosby (Green Bay Packers) vs. Seattle

Crosby’s rank as the 17th kicker doesn’t mean we believe the Seahawks, who are allowing 23.2 points per game despite playing in the offensively challenged NFC West, will be able to hold the Packers’ in check. On the contrary, we expect the Seahawks to struggle so mightily that the Packers are able to finish their drives off on a regular basis, leading to plenty of extra point attempts for Crosby, but few chances for the quick three points.
Point Projection: 7 points

18. Matt Stover / Adam Vinatieri (Indianapolis Colts) vs. New York Jets

Despite the high-scoring antics of the Indianapolis Colts, this is a situation that is best avoided this weekend. The Colts are expected to keep both Matt Stover and Adam Vinatieri active for this weekend’s game. The strategy seems to be to see if Vinatieri has the capability of being the team’s kicker during their playoff run or if Stover will be the man. While the Colts’ try out their kickers, fantasy owners are encouraged to try out other options in week 16.
Point Projection: 7 points

19. Shaun Suisham (Dallas Cowboys) @ Washington

It’s going to be a weird feeling for Suisham this week as he’ll kicking against the very Redskins’ team that released him following a Week 13 loss to the New Orleans Saints in which he booted a late field goal that would have secured Washington the win. The Redskins have allowed 8+ fantasy points in each of their last four games, which makes Suisham an intriguing option this weekend. The seven points we have him slated for are more a floor than a ceiling.
Point Projection: 7 points

20. Matt Bryant (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Buffalo

Averaging just 5 fantasy points in his three games as the Falcons’ kickers, it’s best to stay away from Bryant in Week 16’s match-up with the Buffalo Bills. While the Bills may not be able to post a ton of points, they also don’t give up many either, allowing just over 20 per contest.
Point Projection: 7 points

21. Phil Dawson (Cleveland Browns) vs. Oakland

Dawson posted his second double digit day on the year in Week 15 thanks to the work of Joshua Cribbs and Jerome Harrison, but we wouldn’t look for his third this weekend against the Raiders. This game is going to be dominated by both team’s ground games, which means few possessions for each offense, and subsequently, few opportunities for Dawson.
Point Projection: 7 points

22. Jay Feely (New York Jets) @ Indianapolis

Talk about letting down your fantasy football owners when it counts the most. After scoring 30 fantasy points in Week 13-14, Feely missed both of his field goal chances last week and scored -1 fantasy points in the most important week of the season. If you were fortunate enough to win your match-up despite his struggles it might be best to look elsewhere this week. The Indianapolis Colts do allow a lot of FG attempts (31 attempts in 14 games) but they do a good job of limiting opposing touchdowns and we can’t see Feely being anything more than a marginal play in this game.
Point Projection: 6 points

23. Ryan Succop (Kansas City Chiefs) @ Cincinnati

For the most part Succop’s enjoyed a fine rookie campaign as he’s converted on 21-of-25 field goal attempts and has made eight in a row. In Week 16, the Chiefs travel to Ohio to take on a Cincinnati Bengals team that needs a victory to clinch the division and a playoff spot. With the Bengals offense projected to move the football at will against Kansas City, it means that Succop’s opportunity to kick field goals could be limited.
Point Projection: 6 points

24. Rian Lindell (Buffalo Bills) @ Atlanta

Lindell hasn’t been exactly accurate of late, as he has missed a field goal in three of his last for games, but he’s been getting enough kicking chances to be considered as a fantasy option. However, with little known quarterback Brian Brohm likely starting for the Bills who know’s what to expect from them. After all, the Bills offense averages just 16.1 points per game and we have our doubts that they will produce even against a struggling Atlanta Falcons defense.
Point Projection: 6 points

25. Josh Brown (St. Louis Rams) @ Arizona

Believe it or not, Brown has been solid over the past nine weeks and his 7.5 fantasy football point per game average during that span ranks in the top half amongst NFL kickers. Still, with it being the fantasy playoffs it’s tough for us to suggest you start a kicker on an offense that averages a league low 11.4 points per game and outside of Steven Jackson has no playmakers.
Point Projection: 6 points]

26. Olindo Mare (Seattle Seahawks) @ Green Bay

In the middle of the season Mare was on a role as he was averaging two field goals and 2-3 extra points per week but since Week 13 the Seahawks kicker has been non-existent. In fact, Mare hasn’t attempted a field goal over his last two games and has a measly two fantasy points to show for it. With a match-up against a the Green Bay Packers, who have allowed just 12 made field goals on the season, odds are Mare won’t be seeing many chances at kicking three pointers.
Point Projection:5 points

27. Connor Barth (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ New Orleans

Week 15 saw Barth connect on 3-of-4 field goal attempts to go along with an extra point as the Buccaneers snapped a five game losing streak. Fantasy owners shouldn’t count on a repeat performance for Barth this week because Tampa Bay will likely need touchdowns, not point after touchdowns, to keep up with a New Orleans Saints offense that averages a league high 34.5 points per game.
Point Projection: 5 points

28. John Kasay (Carolina Panthers) vs. New York Giants

Despite the Carolina Panthers scoring 26 points in a blowout victory over the Minnesota Vikings Kasay was able to muster just two fantasy football points. Carolina scored four touchdowns in the game but Kasay had one of his extra points blocked and the Panthers attempted a two point conversion after another TD. Facing a New York Giants team that has allowed a league low 16 field goal attempts on the season will be no easy task for Carolina and it’s recommended you stay far away from Kasay.
Point Projection: 5 points

29. Josh Scobee (Jacksonville Jaguars) @ New England

Scobee had a decent Week 15 as he was able to connect on his lone field goal attempt to go along with four extra points in a 35-31 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. In Week 16 Jacksonville must take on a New England Patriots defense that is No.1 in the NFL at limiting opposing kickers and with rain in the forecast things are looking good for Scobee. The Patriots allow just 5.1 fantasy points per game in standard scoring leagues to the kicker position and it would be a reach to rely on Scobee for anything more than that.
Point Projection: 5 points

30. Graham Gano (Washington Redskins) vs. Dallas

Gano rewards fantasy football owners brave enough to start him with 12 points in Week 14 but on Monday Night Football last week he was held scoreless. Despite the Redskins scoring 12 points the rookie missed his lone extra point attempt. Expect him to snap his streak without a fantasy point this week against a Dallas Cowboys defense that has allowed opponent to attempt 25 field goals on the season. Still, he won’t receive enough kicking chances to warrant you start him with your season on the line.
Point Projection: 5 points

31. Jason Hanson (Detroit Lions) @ San Francisco

Hanson’s ranking towards the bottom of our Week 16 kicker rankings can be blamed solely on his teams offense as the Lions average just 16.6 points per game. Their opponent, the San Francisco 49ers, has played solid at home this season and they should have no problem bottling up a Detroit team that will start Drew Stanton at quarterback. Don’t expect many kicking chances for the aging veteran in this one.
Point Projection: 4 points

32. Robbie Gould (Chicago Bears) vs. Minnesota

Gould has been far from “Gold” in 2009. The veteran kicker has not attempted a field goal since Week 13 and has just three fantasy points over the Bears last two games. Things won’t get any easier this week against a Minnesota Vikings defense that has given up just 22 field goal attempts in 14 games. On the season Minnesota allows just 19.2 points per game and you can’t rely on a suspect Bears offense to offer Gould many kicking chances.
