31. Reggie Bush (New Orleans Saints) vs. Dallas **CHECK INJURY STATUS**
In his second game back after missing two games with an injury Reggie Bush had one of his best performances of the season in the Saints Week 14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. He finished the game with six carries for 33 yards, while adding six receptions for 46 yards and two touchdowns. Bush will rarely lead the team in carries or rushing yards, but he is still a dynamic player who can make plays when he gets the ball in the open field. He makes a nice flex option this week against the Dallas Cowboys.
Point Projection: 8 points
32. Justin Forsett (Seattle Seahawks) vs. Tampa Bay
With the return of Julius Jones from injury, Justin Forsett has returned to his role as the No. 2 running back in Seattle. Although in the Seahawks Week 14 loss to the Houston Texans he had nine carries for 26 yards and had nearly as many carries as Jones who had 10, but both struggled to get the ball moving on the ground. Forsett did add four receptions for 47 yards in the game, salvaging a few extra points for fantasy football owners who were forced to start him. Consider him a low-end No. 3 running back or flex option this week against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that is allowing more than 160 rushing yards per game and has allowed opponents to score 15 rushing touchdowns against them on the season.
Point Projection: 8 points
33. LeSean McCoy (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. San Francisco **CHECK INJURY STATUS OF B.WESTBROOK**
After posting back-to-back double digit fantasy outings in Week’s 11 and 12, rookie running back LeSean McCoy had his second straight game with less than five fantasy points in a Week 14 victory over the New York Giants. Since filling in for the injured Brian Westbrook, who has missed the better part of the Eagles last seven games, McCoy has been solid, yet inconsistent. He has 814 total yards with three touchdowns this season but he’s been losing touches to touches to Leonard Weaver and Westbrook could return in Week 15. On top of that, the San Francisco 49ers defense is ranked No. 5 against the run.
Point Projection: 7 points
34. Cadillac Williams (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Seattle **CHECK INJURY STATUS**
After rushing for 92 yards against the Carolina Panthers in Week 13, Cadillac Williams had just 11 carries for 14 yards in a Week 14 loss to the New York Jets. He was not only slowed by a solid Jets defense, he was also struggling with a nagging back injury that cost him practice time leading up to the contest last week. Williams has a decent match-up this week against an average Seattle Seahawks rush defense, but the back injury is still a concern. Keep an eye on his status throughout the week, but he is an injury risk this week and even against 5-8 Seattle team the Buccaneers might find it tough to score points
Point Projection: 7 points
35. Willis McGahee (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Chicago
In a blowout victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 14, Willis McGahee had a solid stat line with 12 carries for 76 yards with two touchdowns. It was the third week in a row that he has found the end zone and he has four touchdowns during that span. He managed additional touches in the second half after the Ravens decided to rest Ray Rice who had a huge first half and the game being out of reach. McGahee may not receive double digit touches once again this week, but the fact that he is one against the goalline back in Baltimore makes him an intriguing option against a below average Chicago Bears rush defense.
Point Projection: 7 points
36. Julius Jones (Seattle Seahawks) vs. Tampa Bay
Julius Jones had 10 carries for 39 yards in the Seahawks loss to the Houston Texans last week. He has been very inconsistent this season as he has managed just 498 rushing yards in 11 games played with four total touchdowns. He has a very good match-up this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are ranked No. 31 against the rush this season, but his inconsistencies make him a risky play with your season on the line. If you are in a pinch and like taking risks going with a guy like Jones could pay huge dividends.
Point Projection: 7 points
37. Marshawn Lynch (Buffalo Bills) vs. New England
While continuing to share carries with Fred Jackson, Marshawn Lynch had 12 carries for 84 yards and added three receptions for 10 yards. He continues to receive less carries than Jackson, but Lynch did break a 47-yard run which was the biggest play in the game by either of the two backs. Lynch should not be used as anything more than a low-end RB3 this week in a tough match-up against a New England Patriots defense that is allowing 109.3 rushing yards per game and has yielded just three rushing touchdowns.
Point Projection: 6 points
38. Felix Jones (Dallas Cowboys) @ New Orleans
Felix Jones had 10 carries for 51 yards in a Week 14 loss to the San Diego Chargers. He is averaging 6.2 yards per carry this season, but Jones has been limited to just 77 carries as he continues to be the change of pace running back for starter Marion Barber. Jones has scored double digit fantasy points just three times in 11 games and he has only managed two touchdowns. With the Cowboys needing to score points to win this game Jones’ ability to get loose at anytime make him an interesting play as a flex option this week against the New Orleans Saints who rank No. 19 against the run this season.
Point Projection: 6 points
39. Darren McFadden (Oakland Raiders) @ Denver
With eight carries for 21 yards in a loss to the Washington Redskins last week, Darren McFadden continues to struggle gaining yardage on the ground. He did have three receptions for 84 yards in the game, including one that went for 48-yards. He has not lived up to the billing as a high first round draft pick in 2008, but he does not have a strong supporting cast and has struggled with injuries this year. McFadden should be considered a low-end fantasy football option in deep leagues this week against a Denver Broncos rush defense that is allowing just 3.9 yards per carry this season.
Point Projection: 6 points
40. Ryan Moats (Houston Texans) @ St. Louis
Starting in place of Steve Slaton who is out for the season Ryan Moats had 10 carries for 43 yards with a touchdown in Houston’s Week 14 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. However, Moats lost a fumble and rookie running back Arian Foster led the team in carries with 13 and head coach Gary Kubiak has been on record saying that Foster will be their “guy” moving forward. With Moats role in the offense once again being unknown you can only consider him as a flex option this week, despite having a good match-up against a poor St. Louis Rams rush defense.
Point Projection: 6 points
41. Kevin Faulk (New England Patriots) @ Buffalo
The best way to sum up the value of Faulk from a fantasy and NFL standpoint is “steady eddy.” He isn’t going to do anything exceptional but he makes good decisions and is a great pass catcher out of the Patriots backfield. Faulk has scored a touchdown in two straight games and has five or more fantasy football points in five straight games for the Patriots. And for those of you who own Faulk in PPR leagues bump him up to flex consideration because not only do the Buffalo Bills struggle against the run but they are allowing opposing running backs to haul in 5.6 receptions per game against them.
Point Projection: 6 points
42. Jonathan Stewart (Carolina Panthers) vs. Minnesota **CHECK INJURY STATUS**
In the Panthers’ loss last week to the New England Patriots, Jonathan Stewart had just seven carries for 29 yards. Panthers head coach John Fox reported Monday that Stewart has a toe injury, but did not say whether it was the same toe he had surgery heading into his rookie season. He has spent most of the season dealing with an Achilles injury, but he has not missed any time. Stewart is officially listed as questionable for this week’s tough match-up against a very good Minnesota Vikings run defense. Consider Stewart and injury risk that should remain as a fantasy reserve this week.
Point Projection: 5 points
43. Leonard Weaver (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. San Francisco
With LeSean McCoy struggling to find running room in the Philadelphia offense head coach Andy Reid has turned to Weaver to run through defenses and it’s worked. Over his last four games Weaver is averaging 5.5 yards per carry and has scored a touchdown in two straight games. His 10 touches in Week 14 marked a season high and with Brian Westbrook status in doubt this week it could lead to another productive afternoon for the fourth year bruiser.
Point Projection: 5 points
44. Justin Fargas (Oakland Raiders) @ Denver
Justin Fargas had nine carries for 21 yards with a touchdown in a Week 14 loss to the Washington Redskins. It was his first touchdown in four games and he has less than 70 rushing yards in each of his last seven games. He has 126 carries for 483 yards with three touchdowns this season. Even though he appears to be the top-option in Oakland’s backfield, he does not get enough touches to make him a viable fantasy option. Plus, he plays on the Oakland Raiders who arguably sport the worst offense in the NFL. Keep Fargas reserved in all formats.
Point Projection: 5 points
45. Jerious Norwood (Atlanta Falcons) @ New York Jets **CHECK INJURY STATUS OF M.TURNER**
With Michael Turner once again sidelined with an ankle injury Jerious Norwood and Jason Snelling continued to split carries. In Atlanta’s loss last week to the New Orleans Saints, Norwood had nine carries for 33 yards without a touchdown or a reception. He appears to be the No. 2 option behind Snelling and will likely fall to No. 3 when Turner returns to the lineup. Keep Norwood on your bench or on the waiver wire in all formats at this time.
Point Projection: 4 points
46. Mike Bell (New Orleans Saints) vs. Dallas **CHECK INJURY STATUS**
Mike Bell was inactive for the Saints Week 14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons with a knee injury. When healthy Bell has been splitting carries with starter Pierre Thomas and has actually managed more carries than Thomas in his last three games played. Bell has 144 carries for 598 yards with four touchdowns in 10 games played this season, but he is questionable for this week against Dallas with the injured knee and should be considered an injury risk. He should remain as a fantasy reserve at this crucial point in the fantasy season.
Point Projection: 4 points
47. Darren Sproles (San Diego Chargers) vs. Cincinnati
In the Chargers Week 14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, Darren Sproles had seven carries for 22 yards and he added just one catch for three yards. He continues to be the backup to LaDainian Tomlinson in the San Diego’s backfield and as long as Tomlinson is healthy Sproles has minimal fantasy football value. Don’t be overly enamored with his 40 receptions for 452 yards with three touchdowns this season, as he has had five games in which he has had just one reception. Sproles is too inconsistent to have any fantasy value at this time, unless you are awarded points for return yardage. Then he could be used as a low-end flex option.
Point Projection: 4 points
48. Maurice Morris / Aaron Brown (Detroit Lions) vs. Arizona
With Kevin Smith placed on injured reserve with a severe knee injury, Maurice Morris will likely take over the starting running back duties in Detroit. In limited action he has 42 carries for 165 yards and one touchdown. Expect Morris to share carries with rookie Aaron Brown, but neither have much fantasy value this week when they face a solid Arizona Cardinals run defense that has only allowed nine rushing touchdowns on the season.
Point Projection: 4 points
49. Jerome Harrison (Cleveland Browns) @ Kansas City
Jerome Harrison was expected to be the top rushing option in Cleveland when Jamal Lewis was placed on injured reserve, but he played third fiddle to rookie Chris Jennings and wide receiver Joshua Cribbs in a Week 14 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Harrison finished the game seven carries for nine yards and added two receptions for 10 yards. He had less carries than both Jennings who had 20 and Cribbs who had eight. Harrison has very little fantasy value and should remain reserved or on waivers in all formats.
Point Projection: 4 points
50. Chester Taylor (Minnesota Vikings) @ Carolina
In the Vikings Week 14 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals backup running back Chester Taylor had five carries for 25 yards and two receptions for 32 yards. As the backup for Adrian Peterson, Taylor has limited fantasy football value as anything other then a handcuff to Peterson. Unless there is an injury to Peterson, Taylor should remain on your bench.
Point Projection: 4 points
51. Chris Brown (Houston Texans) @ St. Louis
After scoring touchdown on back-to-back games, Chris Brown had just three carries for seven yards in a Week 14 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The running back situation seems to get more and more confusing each week. Arian Foster has now taken over as the lead back with Ryan Moats expected to get some touches. With his role dwindling by the week, Brown should remain as nothing more than a fantasy football reserve at this point in the season, even in a nice match-up against a putrid St. Louis Rams rush defense.
Point Projection: 3 points
52. Rock Cartwright (Washington Redskins) vs. New York Giants
After struggling as the Redskins starting running back for two weeks, Rock Cartwright returned to his backup role in Week 14 only this time it was to Quinton Ganther. Cartwright had one carry for no gain and one reception for eight yards against the Oakland Raiders. With Ganther having a solid outing he will remain the lead back in Washington, which means that Cartwright no longer has any fantasy value and should remain as bench or waiver wire fodder.
Point Projection: 3 points
53. Larry Johnson (Cincinnati Bengals) @ San Diego
While it was reported before Week 14 that Larry Johnson would share carries with starter Cedric Benson, Johnson finished the game with three carries for four yards and one catch for six yards in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings. At this point Johnson’s only value is as an insurance policy for Cedric Benson owners. Unless Benson is inactive, which won’t happen in Week 15, Johnson should remain at the end of your bench.
Point Projection: 3 points
54. Correll Buckhalter (Denver Broncos) vs. Oakland **CHECK INJURY STATUS**
Coming off a game in which he had 113 rushing yards, Correll Buckhalter rolled his ankle early last week and managed just four carries for 19 yards in the Broncos Week 14 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Buckhalter will be a true game-time decision on Sunday and with this being the case it’s hard to consider him a fantasy football option. Rookie running back Knowshon Moreno is in line for a big day whether or not Buckhalter plays.
Point Projection: 3 points
WEEK 15 RUNNING BACK INJURY REPORT
Brian Westbrook (Philadelphia Eagles) @ San Francisco
Brian Westbrook has missed six of the last seven games while dealing with the effects of a concussion. There is a chance that he could return this week, but after suffering two concussions on the season, the Eagles want to make sure he is 100-percent healthy before they insert him into the starting lineup. When active he is worth using as a No. 2 fantasy football running back and we will keep you posted of his status throughout the week.
Kevin Smith (Detroit Lions) @ Arizona
Kevin Smith was placed on injured reserve Monday after suffering a season ending knee injury in Week 14. According to reports out of Detroit, the extent of the injury is not yet determined, but it will require surgery. This injury could keep him sidelined up to nine months depending on the extent. Keep an eye on this situation heading into the 2010 season.

rob,
You are absolutely correct. Miami did beat Jacksonville in Week 14. Thanks for catching the mistake. We did get it correct in the MJD write-up, but not in the Ricky Williams write-up, my mistake. Nice catch and it’s good to know you are paying such close attention to what we are saying.
