16. Fred Davis (Washington Redskins) @ Oakland

The Oakland Raiders have allowed the fewest receptions in the league to opposing tight ends, and they’re the only team in the NFL that has yet to allow a player at that position to score a touchdown. Then again, the New Orleans Saints shared that distinction with the Raiders last week, and Davis still found a way to score.
Point Projection: 6 points

17. Todd Heap (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Detroit

It should come as no surprise that no team in the NFL has allowed more opposing tight ends to score a touchdown than the Detroit Lions, the team that sports the worst pass defense in the league. With 52 receiving yards last week, Heap had his highest total since Week 1, a number that does little to inspire much confidence.
Point Projection: 6 points

18. Zach Miller (Oakland Raiders) vs. Washington

Despite the presence of Bruce Gradkowski turning Miller into a respectable member of the fantasy football tight ends society, this match-up is a difficult one. The Washington Redskins have allowed the fourth-fewest touchdowns (tied) to opposing tight ends and the last time a tight end score on them was in Week 9.
Point Projection: 5 points

19. Marcedes Lewis (Jacksonville Jaguars) vs. Miami

Lewis has hardly been consistent over his career, but his last four games have been different. He has at least 40 receiving yards in each of them, though never more than three receptions. That’s excellent news considering the Miami Dolphins have allowed more receiving yards to opposing tight ends than all but two other teams. If you are in the need of a last minute play Lewis very well could be your guy.
Point Projection: 5 points

20. Anthony Fasano (Miami Dolphins) @ Jacksonville

Fasano was more than solid last week against the New England Patriots, contributing over 60 receiving yards, but the Jacksonville Jaguars have only allowed opposing tight ends to score twice, and they are a top-10 team in terms of pass defense against players at that position.
Point Projection: 4 points

21. David Thomas (New Orleans Saints) @ Atlanta

After it looked like Thomas had overtaken Jeremy Shockey for Drew Brees’ favorite tight end, Thomas’  momentum seems to have stalled in Week 13. He had just three catches for 31 yards last week and Shockey was back to getting the majority of the looks. Unless you are in a league that starts two tight ends it’s not worth playing Thomas.
Point Projection: 4 points

22. Martellus Bennett (Dallas Cowboys) vs. San Diego

Bennett watched as Jason Witten gashed the New York Giants last week, though he did catch two passes for 20 yards. This week, he faces the San Diego Chargers, a team that doesn’t allow a ton of receiving yards to opposing tight ends, but can be had as far as allowing touchdowns.
Point Projection: 3 points

23. Tony Scheffler (Denver Broncos) @ Indianapolis

Daniel Graham scored the touchdown for the Broncos’ tight ends last week, as Scheffler managed only one catch for 19 yards. This week he faces an Indy team that is a terror on tight ends. Only one team has allowed opposing players at that position to gain fewer receiving yards, and just three teams have allowed fewer touchdowns. In other words, keep Scheffler reserved.
Point Projection: 3 points

24. John Carlson (Seattle Seahawks) @ Houston

Carlson has essentially become a non-factor. He was targeted just once last week, and he caught that pass, but gained only nine yards. He has three receptions for 23 yards over his last three games, and now has three or fewer fantasy football points in seven of his last 10 games.
Point Projection: 3 points

25. Ben Patrick (Arizona Cardinals) @ San Francisco

Patrick had an outstanding match-up last week against the Minnesota Vikings, but Kurt Warner didn’t need him (one catch, seven yards) because he was comfortably bombing away to Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. This week, Patrick faces a San Francisco 49ers team that has allowed a healthy dose of receiving yards to opposing tight ends, but only one team has allowed them to score fewer touchdowns. In fact, the last time San Francisco gave up a touchdown to the tight end position was in Week 7.
Point Projection: 3 points

26. Ben Watson (New England Patriots) vs. Carolina

Watson was shut out last week as Tom Brady looked for Wes Welker early and often. Watson was giving fantasy owners at least the promise of a touchdown earlier in the season, but he’s hit a five-game drought in that department. He’s too shaky to rely on.
Point Projection: 3 points

27. Randy McMichael (St. Louis Rams) @ Tennessee

With Kyle Boller at the helm of the Rams’ offense, they move the ball side-to-side more than forward, or at least it seems that way. In actuality, the Rams have a short passing offense, which works in McMichael’s favor somewhat. He had three receptions for 18 yards last week.
Point Projection: 2 points

28. Donald Lee (Green Bay Packers) @ Chicago

Lee caught only one pass for three yards last week as Jermichael Finley stole the show with two touchdowns. Lee is now an afterthought compared to Finley, though he does have enough production from time to time to at least be considered.
Point Projection: 2 points

29. Evan Moore (Cleveland Browns) vs. Pittsburgh

Um, who? Excellent question. In fact, we asked the same thing after we saw he had caught six passes for 80 yards last week against the San Diego Chargers. Seems Moore was signed to Cleveland’s practice squad in late November, then signed to their active roster last week. We can’t ignore someone who had 80 receiving yards, so he’ll land on our rankings for this week.
Point Projection: 2 points

30. Dante Rosario (Carolina Panthers) @ New England

Rosario had just two receptions for 11 yards last week, which was disappointing after he had had some modestly better totals in the previous two games. The New England Patriots allow scant production to opposing tight ends, so don’t consider Rosario much of an option this week.
