By now you should have your roster set but for those of you looking for a player to pick up whether it’s for a spot start or to fill in for a starter who isn’t performing, we’ve got you covered. Aside from the players mentioned below you should check the free agency list to see if guys like Zach Miller of the Oakland Raiders as well the San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts team defenses are still available. Some other good candidates are listed below in our Fantasy Football Week 13 Waiver Wire - Pick Them Up article.

Note: If you’re debating on who to drop to pick these guys up, you should be checking out the Bruno Boys’ article, Fantasy Football Week 13 Waiver Wire - Cut Them Loose, and see if anyone on your roster is a Bruno Boys’ recommendation to drop. QUARTERBACKS - PICK THEM UP

Chris Redman (Atlanta Falcons)

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan left last week’s game with a toe injury and did not return. The status of Ryan is unclear for this week but the fact that he didn’t return and that the Falcons are remaining quiet on the issue isn’t a good sign. Chris Redman replaced Ryan and threw for 243 yards with two touchdowns in leading Atlanta to a come-from-behind win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Redman isn’t the greatest quarterback in the league but he’s a good backup and part of the reason he’s on this list is because we remember two years ago when Redman came off the bench late in the season and put together a some pretty good fantasy football performances. The Falcons have some tough defenses ahead of them but Redman is a veteran and has some good weapons to feed the football, so those in need of a quarterback could do worse.

Vince Young (Tennessee Titans)

All Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young has done since taking over the starting job is post five consecutive double-digit fantasy football performances, including last week in a win over the Arizona Cardinals where he threw for 387 yards and a touchdown. Young has always added an extra dynamic to the Titans offense with the ability to make plays by running the ball or creating extra time to pass by evading pressure, but it appears that just now he is starting to take full advantage of that talent. He also has a very favorable matchup in Week 14 with a home game against the St. Louis Rams.

RUNNING BACKS - PICK THEM UP

Chris Brown (Houston Texans)

Steve Slaton is still receiving regular touches on the ball so the Houston Texans haven’t given up on him yet this season, but it was Chris Brown who led the team in carries in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts last week. Brown ran the ball 11 times for 56 yards and a touchdown and also caught three passes for 20 yards. Brown is a workhorse back and having been in the league for seven years there may not be much tread left on the tires. But he is also a veteran and gives the team a different presence than Slaton, who has had trouble running between the tackles. Expect Brown to continue to receive about 15 touches a game from here on out, and remember he is a better red zone option than Slaton.

Quinton Ganther (Washington Redskins)

The running back position is a mess right now for the Washington Redskins. Ladell Betts has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season, and Clinton Portis is still suffering lingering effects from his concussion. Rock Cartwright is now the lead back but Quinton Ganther is finding his way into some playing time as well. Though he only had five carries he made the most of them as he gained 32 yards. Expect to see Ganther receive around 10 touches a game until Portis returns, and that makes him worth looking at in deeper leagues.

Fred Jackson (Buffalo Bills)

A shoulder injury has limited the play of Buffalo Bills starting running back Marshawn Lynch, including in Week 12 when ran the ball just three times. This has allowed Fred Jackson to get back in the mix. Last week in the win over the Miami Dolphins Jackson had 73 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, and he also had 43 yards on five catches. Even if Lynch’s shoulder heals this week, Jackson looks to be the better option and you should still expect Jackson to get 15-20 carries this week, making him a solid addition in any league.
