17. Jason Elam (Atlanta Falcons) vs. Tampa Bay
Elam’s struggles started in the season opener when he missed two field goals and they haven’t stopped. The veteran kicker has been missing chip shots and the Falcons worked out multiple kickers this week. It looks like Elam will keep his job and a match-up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should lead to a solid fantasy performance, but he is on thin ice and one miss away from being cut.
Point Projection: 7 points
18. Olindo Mare (Seattle Seahawks) @ St. Louis
Mare has been the main staple in the Seahawks inconsistent offense. He hasn’t missed a field goal in seven games and has 12 during that span. The only thing preventing Mare from being a weekly starter is the Seahawks inability to put the ball in the end zone. Seattle has just six extra points over the last five games. Points should be scored in this divisional match-up against the St. Louis Rams but starting him on your fantasy squad is risky business.
Point Projection: 7 points
19. Robbie Gould (Chicago Bears) @ Minnesota
Gould is tied for 10th at the kicker position with 73 fantasy points and has been seeing more field goal chances of late. Over the last four game Gould has converted on 9 of 11 field goals and six extra points. However, with quarterback Jay Cutler turning the ball over at will it’s taken away the opportunity for Gould to mix in some extra points with all those FGs. It is likely that the Bears will need to score touchdowns to keep up with the high powered Minnesota Vikings offense so you might want to proceed with caution when using Gould in Week 12.
Point Projection: 7 points
20. John Kasay (Carolina Panthers) @ New York Jets
In a Week 11 loss to the Miami Dolphins Kasay put together his best fantasy outing of the season. The seasoned veteran booted three field goals en route to 10 points. Only two kickers who have played in every game this year, like Kasay, have less points on the season and with the Panthers offense failing to give him many chances (15 FG attempts and 20 extra points) you are better off not looking into his big game and keeping him on the waiver wire.
Point Projection: 7 points
21. Josh Brown (St. Louis Rams) vs. Seattle
Brown still possesses a powerful leg and he has showed it of late but even with the Rams offense improving he still is a kicker that is tough to predict. Also, with quarterback Marc Bulger injured the Rams will be forced to one again play Kyle Boller and this doesn’t bode well for the entire offense (outside of Steven Jackson). Some might tell you this is the match-up to use Brown as a Week 12 plug-n-play but you are better off starting a kicker from a better offense.
Point Projection: 7 points
22. Joe Nedney (San Francisco 49ers) vs. Jacksonville
Nedney has fallen victim to his team getting behind early and forced to spend the majority of the second half playing catch-up. Because of this, Nedney has been limited to a one half kicker and his kicking opportunities have dwindled. He has just five field goal attempts over the 49ers last five games, and though he might get more opportunity against a bad Jacksonville Jaguars defense, there are better options on more consistent offenses.
Point Projection: 6 points
23. Kris Brown (Houston Texans) vs. Indianapolis
Brown has missed three field goal attempts over the Texans last two games and he is starting to be known as a “goat” in Houston. His miss late in the 4th quarter on Monday Night Football would have sent the game into overtimes, instead it sent the Texans’ to a 5-5 record in a tough AFC South division. Facing a stubborn Indianapolis Colts defense in Week 12 could lead to some field goal chances for Brown, but at the rate he’s been converting there is no guarantee he makes the most of his opportunity.
Point Projection: 6 points
24. Jason Hanson (Detroit Lions) vs. Green Bay
During his career Hanson has had some great Turkey Day games, as evident by his four field goal, 19 fantasy point performance against the Green Bay Packers in 2007. However, even with statistics to back up his success on Thanksgiving, Hanson isn’t worth starting in Week 12. The Lions’ are likely to be without their play-makers and this could lead to an uneventful day out of the seasoned veteran.
Point Projection: 6 points
25. Sebastian Janikowski (Oakland Raiders) @ Dallas
MVP. MVP. MVP. That is what fans chanted when Janikowski kicked a game winning field goal to upend the heavily favored Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11. If you take a deeper look into the Raiders statistics it’s Janikowski who leads the team in points and he is the only reliable option on the entire team. Still, the Raiders don’t present him with enough kicking chances to consider Janikowski as your starting fantasy kicker.
Point Projection: 6 points
26. Matt Prater (Denver Broncos) vs. New York Giants
With the Denver Broncos struggling on offense it’s led to a downfall in production out of Prater. Since the Broncos Week 7 bye the third year kicker has only attempted three field goals and four extra points. He has converted on all of his kicks but 14 combined fantasy points over a four game stretch is not something you want to plug into your lineup. Plus, Prater has had trouble kicking at home as he has missed three of his 10 FG attempts at Invesco.
Point Projection: 6 points
27. Billy Cundiff (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Pittsburgh
Point Projection: 6 points
28. Josh Scobee (Jacksonville Jaguars) @ San Francisco

29. Ryan Succop (Kansas City Chiefs) @ San Diego

30. Connor Barth (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Atlanta

31. Shaun Suisham (Washington Redskins) @ Philadelphia

32. Phil Dawson (Cleveland Browns) @ Cincinnati
