Ricky Williams (Miami Dolphins)

Miami Dolphins’ running back Ronnie Brown left Sunday’s win with an ankle injury, and though he was on crutches after the game, he said he felt the injury wasn’t too serious. Even if that is the case, the Dolphins are on a short week this week as they will play in the Thursday game. Williams rushed for 102 yards on 20 carries in place of Brown, and though he is taken in the majority of the leagues out there, if he is available in yours, he should be picked up immediately.

WIDE RECEIVERS - PICK THEM UP

Jason Avant (Philadelphia Eagles)

Though DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin are still the go-to guys for the Philadelphia Eagles at wide receiver, it’s tough to ignore what Jason Avant did in week 10. In a loss to the San Diego Chargers, Avant had eight receptions for 156 yards. Don’t expect Avant to continue with production like that, but he is a very sure-handed receiver and as teams begin to find ways to contain Jackson and Maclin, Avant will find himself in some very favorable match-ups. Because Jackson and Maclin are the primary targets, Avant should only be considered in deeper leagues for now.

Brandon Gibson (St. Louis Rams)

Listed at third on the depth chart for the St. Louis Rams, wide receiver Brandon Gibson did not appear to be a likely candidate for a break out game, especially since he hadn’t caught a pass all year long. However, in a loss to the New Orleans Saints, Gibson caught seven pass for 93 yards. The Rams are still trying to figure some things out on offense, but Gibson could very well emerge as the No. 2 guy at receiver behind Donnie Avery. Still, considering how bad the St. Louis offense has been, and that Gibson hadn’t caught one pass this season prior to this game, he should only be considered in deeper leagues.

KICKERS - PICK THEM UP

Shayne Graham (Cincinnati Bengals)

Sure, Bengals kicker Shayne Graham had a huge week against the Steelers as he kicked converted on four field goals, and missed a fifth from 51 yards, which would’ve been the longest in Heinz Field history (he had the distance but hit the upright.) But, the real reason Graham is on the list is not only because the Bengals offense is starting to click, but also because in the next three weeks Cincinnati plays some very weak defenses in the Oakland Raiders, the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions. That’s three good spot starts right there.

DEFENSES - PICK THEM UP

D/ST Cincinnati Bengals

OK, so the Bengals defense has been on our list before, but a check of ESPN and Yahoo! leagues reveal this unit is still owned in less than 40 percent of all fantasy football leagues. Why? Of course the perception still exists that this unit is soft, but the reality is much different. The Bengals are second in rushing yards allowed and third in points allowed. This past week in a win over Pittsburgh, the Steelers scored just once in the second half as they got a Jeff Reed field goal, and Cincinnati didn’t yield one touchdown despite playing on the road. Playing against three bad offenses in the next three weeks makes this unit one that can help your fantasy football team.
