31. Julius Jones (Seattle Seahawks) @ Arizona

Julius Jones scored 16 fantasy points in a Week 9 victory over the Detroit Lions. He had 16 carries for 36 yards with a touchdown and added six receptions for 78 yards. It was his best outing since Week 3, but owners should not get overly excited as it came against the struggling Lions’ defense. This week the Seahawks face a Cardinals defense that ranked No. 4 against the run allowing just 93.1 yards per game. Only use Jones this week as a low-end RB3 or flex player if you lack a better option.
Point Projection:  6 points

32. Mike Bell (New Orleans Saints) @ St. Louis

After getting 12 or more carries in each of the first five games he played in this season, Mike Bell had just five carries in a Week 9 victory over the Carolina Panthers last week. He finished the game with 17 yards rushing, but his touches were likely limited due to the fact that New Orleans was down in the game early and was forced to pass to get back in the game. Pierre Thomas has emerged as the No. 1 running option for the Saints, but before last week Bell was getting close to half of the carries. With the Rams’ allowing nearly 135 rushing yards per game and giving up 12 rushing touchdowns it makes Bell a tempting play. Consider him as a borderline No. 3 fantasy running back in Week 10 but don’t be surprised if he once again takes a backseat in the high powered Saints offense.
Point Projection:  6 points

33. Reggie Bush (New Orleans Saints) @ St. Louis

Reggie Bush had just two carries for 16 yards last week against the Carolina Panthers. He added a season-high seven receptions for 37 yards, but after finding the end zone in three straight games he was held without a touchdown. His role is the running game is clearly limited as he has just seven carries over the Saints last three games and he has just 27 receptions on the season. Bush’s value has become strictly as a red zone threat as he has scored four touchdowns this season. Even in an excellent match-up against the St. Louis Rams, he has very limited fantasy value and should only be used as a low-end No. 3 running back option.
Point Projection:  6 points

34. LeSean McCoy (Philadelphia Eagles) @ San Diego  **RANKING BASED ON WESTBROOK PLAYING**

Starting his second straight game for the injured Brian Westbrook, rookie LeSean McCoy had 13 carries for 54 yards and caught five passes for 61 yards. He has rushed for 136 yards over the Eagles last two games with a touchdown filling in for Westbrook. With Westbrook expected to return this week, McCoy will likely once again come off the bench, but should still be in consideration as a No. 3 fantasy football running back. He is a dynamic running back with break-away ability. If Westbrook is forced to miss action in Week 10, use McCoy as a No. 2 fantasy running back against the San Diego Chargers.
Point Projection:  6 points

35. Ladell Betts (Washington Redskins) vs. Denver

With starting running back Clinton Portis getting knocked out of the game early in Week 9 it led to Ladell Betts seeing an expanded role and the shifty running back made the most of his opportunity. Betts had 16 touches for 93 total yards and a touchdown in a losing effort. With head coach Jim Zorn already declaring Portis’ doubtful for Week 10 it looks like Betts will get a second chance to shine but this week the match-up is a tough one against the Denver Broncos. Despite the Broncos’ getting ran all over in Week 9 they have the league’s 8th best rush defense while giving up just 3.7 yards per carry and three rushing touchdowns in eight games. Consider Betts as a flex option with his true value coming in PPR leagues.
Point Projection:  6 points

36. Chris “Beanie” Wells (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Seattle

Rookie Chris “Beanie” Wells had 13 carries for 72 yards in Arizona’s victory last week over the Chicago Bears. It was a career high in yardage and the second most carries he has had in a game. He is the backup running back to Tim Hightower in Arizona’s offense and he is averaging less then 10 carries a game. Until Wells starts scoring touchdowns his fantasy value is hit-or-miss but you have to be encouraged by his high yard per carry average in Week 9.
Point Projection:  6 points

37. Felix Jones (Dallas Cowboys) @ Green Bay

Felix Jones had four carries for 10 yards and he did not record a catch when the Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles last week. In three games since returning from a knee injury he has rushed for 86 yards on 20 carries. He is still the No. 2 rushing option in Dallas’ offense and is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. Continue to use him as a RB3 or flex player this week against a Green Bay Packers defense that has been struggling of late.
Point Projection:  5 points

38. Derrick Ward (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) @ Miami

Derrick Ward was held to just five yards on four carries last week against the Green Bay Packers, but he did add three catches for 54 yards and a touchdown. Ward is second on the running back depth chart in Tampa Bay behind Cadillac Williams who had four times as many carries as Ward did against the Packers in Week 9. Ward should be used as a low-end RB3 in very deep leagues, but his inconsistent production should keep him reserved if possible.
Point Projection:  5 points

39. LenDale White (Tennessee Titans) vs. Buffalo

For the second time this season LenDale White had less then five rushing yards in a game, when he carried the ball four times and gained three yards in a Week 9 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Coming off a season in which he had 15 rushing touchdowns, this season has been a real disappointment. He has yet to top 51 rushing yards in a game and has just one touchdown. With Chris Johnson emerging into an elite running back, it appears that White will continue to play second fiddle and should not be starting on fantasy football rosters at this time.
Point Projection:  4 points

40. Donald Brown (Indianapolis Colts) vs. New England  **CHECK INJURY STATUS**

Donald Brown missed his second straight game in Week 9 with a shoulder injury. He is once again questionable for this week’s contest with the New England Patriots. Before the injury Brown was the No. 2 running back in Indianapolis behind Joseph Addai and he was progressing nicely in his rookie season. He has 46 rushes for 212 yards with two touchdowns in six games. The injury remains a concern and Brown should remain on your bench, even if he is active this week, until he proves he can remain healthy for an entire game. Plus, this match-up against New England is far from ideal.
Point Projection:  4 points

41. Darren Sproles (San Diego Chargers) vs. Philadelphia

With LaDainian Tomlinson reaffirming himself as the No. 1 running back in San Diego, Darren Sproles fantasy value is taking a huge hit. In a Week 9 victory over the New York Giants, Sproles had just one carry for one yard and added five catches for 22 yards. He has had just one double digit fantasy outing since Week 2 and he should no longer be in consideration for a starting fantasy running back spot.
Point Projection:  4 points

42. Shonn Greene (New York Jets) vs. Jacksonville

Shonn Greene followed up his 144 yard two touchdown performance with eight carries for 18 yards with a fumble in a Week 8 loss to the Miami Dolphins. With Leon Washington out for the year Greene will continue to be the backup to Thomas Jones in New York, but he should not leave your bench this week against the Jaguars. Despite being talented, Greene must prove that he can be a valuable fantasy contributor on a weekly basis before earning a spot on your starting roster.
Point Projection:  4 points

43. Darren McFadden (Oakland Raiders) vs. Kansas City  **CHECK INJURY STATUS**

Darren McFadden has missed four straight games with a knee injury, but there is a possibility that he could return to the Raiders lineup this week against the Kansas City Chiefs. There is still no official word on his return and whether or not he will regain his starting role when he returns, but many fantasy football owners who hung on to McFadden will be happy to see him come back. Before the injury he had 47 carries for 145 yards with a touchdown. If he is active for this week’s game his value will increase some, but he should remain on your bench until you see how his knee responds to game action.
Point Projection:  3 points

44. Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins) vs. Denver  **CHECK INJURY STATUS**

Clinton Portis has just four carries for four yards in Week 9, before being forced out of the game with a concussion. According to Redskins’ head coach Jim Zorn, Portis was still feeling the lingering effects of the concussion on Monday and he appears to be doubtful for this week’s game against the Denver Broncos. Portis should remain reserved in all leagues this week, as he will likely not play in the game. Keep an eye on this situation, and make sure you own Ladell Betts, but even if Portis ends up playing he will likely be limited.
Point Projection:  3 points

45. Correll Buckhalter (Denver Broncos) @ Washington

Last week, Correll Buckhalter had a team-high nine carries for 24 yards in a Week 9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have the league’s best rush defense and were able to shutdown the Broncos running game and forced Denver to pass. Since returning from injury in Week 6, Buckhalter has only scored 11fantasy points. The Broncos running game has struggled of late and Buckhalter should remain at the end of your bench until he starts producing at a higher level.
Point Projection:  3 points

46. Kolby Smith (Kansas City Chiefs) @ Oakland

With the Chiefs cutting bait with Larry Johnson it has opened up the door for Kolby Smith to compete for carries in the backfield with Jamaal Charles. In a Week 9 loss to the Washington Redskins, Smith had four carries for 17 rushing yards while his running mate Charles had six receptions for 36 rushing yards. Until we know the exact role of Smith it’s best to keep him on your waiver wire watch with and see how he pans out. Though it’s worth noting that in a 2007 start against the Oakland Raiders, Smith had 31 carries for 150 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Point Projection: 3 points

47. Chester Taylor (Minnesota Vikings) vs. Detroit

Being the backup to the best running back in the NFL doesn’t offer a ton of action, just ask Chester Taylor. He had five carries for 12 yards and added two catches for 15 yards in the Vikings Week 8 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Playing behind Adrian Peterson has only afforded Taylor 44 rushes for 117 yards with a touchdown to go along with 24 receptions for 209 yards this season. Taylor’s value is strictly limited as insurance for Peterson owners, even with a nice match-up this week against the Detroit Lions. He should not be in your starting lineup.
Point Projection: 3 points

48. Tashard Choice (Dallas Cowboys) @ Green Bay

For the first time this season Tashard Choice ran the Wildcat offense for the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 9 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He had three carries for 13 yards with a touchdown and he also had one catch for eight yards. The touchdown was his first since Week 5, which is also the last time he had any sort of fantasy relevance. Since Marion Barber and Felix Jones have returned from their respective injuries Choice has once again become nothing more then bench fodder. He is talented enough to hand onto for insurance purposes only if you have a roster spot you can afford to waste.
Point Projection:  3 points

49. Jerome Harrison (Cleveland Browns) vs. Baltimore

In Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Jerome Harrison had a breakout game with 29 carries for 121 yards, but since that game he has just 21 carries for 73 yards and has yet to score a touchdown this season. With Cleveland struggling and Jamal Lewis set to retire at the end of the year, Harrison might earn a few more reps so the Browns can see what they have for the future. However, this is not a reason to insert him into your starting lineup. The Browns are still a bad offense and Lewis is still the No. 1 back. Harrison should remain on your bench or on waivers at this time.
Point Projection:  2 points

50. Fred Jackson (Buffalo Bills) @ Tennessee

The return of Marshawn Lynch to the Bills offense after serving a three games suspension has coincided with the demise of Fred Jackson. While Lynch was out Jackson had rushed for 291 yards in three games with a receiving touchdown, but since Lynch has returned Jackson has rushed for 154 yards in five games without a touchdown. As long as Lynch is in the lineup, Jackson has very minimal fantasy football value and should be used solely as a handcuff for Lynch owners.
Point Projection:  2 points

51. Willie Parker (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Cincinnati

Since returning from injury Willie Parker has been an afterthought in the Steelers offense. Rashard Mendenhall is now the teams starting running back and Parker has not scored a single fantasy football point in three weeks, including last week when he didn’t have a single touch. Parker no longer has any fantasy value and is not even worth a roster spot at this point.
Point Projection:  1 point

52. Larry Johnson (Free Agent)

The only reason Larry Johnson is appearing on these ranking this week is to acknowledge the fact the he has been released by the Kansas City Chiefs and if he clears waivers (which is likely) will become a free agent. It is unlikely he will pick up with a team this week and he will not have any fantasy value until he finds a new home. However, he is worth stashing away if you have the roster space available.
Point Projection:  0 points

WEEK 10 BYE WEEK RUNNING BACKS

Brandon Jacobs (New York Giants) - Brandon Jacobs has not had a 100-yard rushing game yet this season and he only has rushed for two touchdowns. He is still a good fantasy football running back, but he should be considered a No. 2 fantasy football running back after the bye week, depending on the match-up.

Ahmad Bradshaw (New York Giants) - Ahmad Bradshaw is the change of pace back in New York. He is extremely fast and he has 611 total yards with four touchdowns this season. Nagging foot/ankle injuries have slowed him down of late, but he should be used as a low-end RB2 or flex option most weeks.

Steve Slaton (Houston Texans) - Fumbling five times in Houston’s first eight games has really hurt Slaton’s fantasy value, not to mention his playing status with the Texans. Ryan Moats received the start for Houston last week and Slaton had just six carries in the game. Pay attention to this situation coming off the team’s bye.

Ryan Moats (Houston Texans) - Ryan Moats got his first start of the season in Week 9 against the New York Giants. In the past two weeks, he has 39 carries and three touchdowns. If Moats continues to start and get a majority of the carries, he will have fantasy football value down the stretch.
