WEEK 15 FALLERS

QB Matt Ryan & RB Michael Turner (Atlanta Falcons) - The Falcons’ studs continue to be listed as questionable, with both being game-time decisions for Sunday’s contest with the New York Jets. Due to the fact that neither will be at 100%, and they’ll be matching up with a solid defensive squad, we suggest you stay away from these two even if they are on the field.

QB Jake Delhomme (Carolina Panthers) - The Panthers’ have already ruled Delhomme out of the team’s week 15 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Really, this comes as no surprise. Would you want to rush back a QB who had as many INTs as Delhomme?

QB Matthew Stafford (Detroit Lions) - Stafford’s shoulder looks to have him sidelined again in week 15 as the rookie is sporting a doubtful tag for Sunday’s match-up with the Arizona Cardinals. If Detroit was smart, they’d shut him down for the rest of the meaningless season.

QB Kellen Clemens (New York Jets) - Mark Sanchez is set to be under center on Sunday, which means Clemens can once again drift back into fantasy obscurity.

QB Bruce Gradkowski (Oakland Raiders) - Just a reminder, Gradkowski tore his MCL in both knees last weekend and, as a result, will not be playing in week 15. Charlie Frye will start in his place, and while he can’t do any worst than JaMarcus Russell would, we don’t recommend you use him this week.

QB Kerry Collins (Tennessee Titans) - As noted above, Collins’ teammate, Vince Young, is expected to get the start on Sunday, meaning Collins is back to clip board duty. And, you can’t put up fantasy points by hanging onto the clipboard.

RB Tim Hightower (Arizona Cardinals) - Despite a thumb injury, Hightower is scheduled to play on Sunday as the Cardinals’ back is listed as probable for the team’s soiree with the Detroit Lions; however, how much he plays is up in the air. Head coach, Ken Whisenhunt, has not been happy with Hightower’s fumbles of late, and with the thumb injury, there’s a good chance he has even less faith in his back.

RB Correll Buckhalter (Denver Broncos) - Due to an ankle injury, Buckhalter is listed as doubtful for this weekend’s contest. The injury couldn’t have come at a worst time as the Broncos have the woeful rush defense of the Oakland Raiders on the schedule.

RB Maurice Morris (Detroit Lions) - With all the waiver wire options out there at the RB position this past week, it seems unlikely that there are owners out there still scrambling for a fill in play, but if so, Morris may be your guy. The Lions have announced that he will start in the injured Kevin Smith’s steed, and offensive coordinator, Scott Linehan, has gone on the record to state that he’d like to get Morris plenty of carries on Sunday. Granted, don’t get us wrong, Morris is nothing more than a hail-mary option, but he is worthy of a look if you’re desperate.

RB Brian Westbrook (Philadelphia Eagles) - There were reports circulating earlier that Westbrook may be ready to give it a go this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers; however, since then, the team has officially ruled the running back out.

RB Steven Jackson (St. Louis Rams) - Not only is Jackson dealing with back spasms as has been par for the course in recent weeks, but he’s also been diagnosed with an illness that could possibly be H1N1. Jackson’s owners will want to make doubly sure they check back in on Sunday to find out the stud’s status.

WR Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) - Listed as questionable and adamant that he’ll play on Sunday, something we actually believe, we’re sticking Fitz as a “Faller” simply to ensure you check his status on Sunday morning. There could be nothing worse than getting a goose egg because the wide out is a late scratch.

WR Mark Clayton (Baltimore Ravens) - He’s not really fantasy worthy to begin with, but we figured we’d enlighten you to the fact that Clayton is doubtful for this weekend’s game anyways. Starting in his place looks to be Demetrius Williams, another guy who’s not really fantasy worthy despite the start.

WR Terrell Owens (Buffalo Bills) - Owens missed practice both Thursday and Friday due to an illness, though, reports suggest he was feeling better Friday and expects to play on Sunday. We find it hard to believe Owens will pass up a chance to try and one-up Randy Moss, but you’d be wise to check his status on Sunday just to ensure that is the case.

WR Devin Hester (Chicago Bears) - Hester’s calf strain kept him out of practice all week for the Bears, making it unlikely that he’ll suit up on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. He is listed as doubtful, meaning his owners should look elsewhere for their WR3.

WR Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions) - The Lions’ stud wide receiver, despite partaking in practice on Friday, is listed as questionable for the team’s contest this Sunday. He does appear likely to go, but it’s worth reminding fantasy owners out there that it will be Daunte Culpepper heaving the ball his direction. With Culpepper under center last weekend, Johnson had just four catches for 37 yards.

WRs Sidney Rice & Percy Harvin (Minnesota Vikings) - The top-2 wide outs for the Vikings are both listed as questionable for this week’s contest with the Panthers with Rice dealing with an illness and Harvin still working on his migraines. Both look like they’ll play, but with this being the playoffs, be sure to check their status on Sunday.

WR Jeremy Maclin (Philadelphia Eagles) - As expected, Maclin has been deemed out for week 15’s match-up with the San Francisco 49ers. Maclin’s absence should translate to more looks for Jason Avant and Reggie Brown, though, it is a bit difficult to recommend fantasy owners use either of the pair.

WR Nate Washington (Tennessee Titans) - Those fantasy owners thinking about using Washington as a WR3 will need to look elsewhere. While Washington’s QB Vince Young is expected to be under center on Sunday, Washington, himself, does not appear likely to be on the field as he is listed as doubtful after suffering a setback in regards to his knee injury during the week.

TE Benjamin Watson (New England Patriots) - The Patriots’ tight end is dealing with knee issues and was unable to practice on Friday, leaving him questionable for this Sunday’s contest against the Buffalo Bills. Watson had two scores the last time the Pats took on the Bills back in week 1, so he is worthy of fantasy consideration; however, at less than 100%, we’d stay away even if he gives it a go.

TE Zach Miller (Oakland Raiders) - The Raiders’ tight end is officially set as a game-time decision for the team’s game with the Denver Broncos; however, Miller suffered a concussion last week and did not practice throughout the week, leading us to assume that the Raiders will play it safe and sit their tight end at least for week 15.

TE Brent Celek (Philadelphia Eagles) - Already facing a difficult match-up with a 49ers’ defense that is allowing the fifth fewest points to the tight end position, Celek is now dealing with back issues which have him sporting a questionable tag. It might be wise to look at other tight end options for this weekend.

TE Kellen Winslow (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - After partaking in the Bucs’ practice on Thursday, Winslow was a no-go on Friday, a strong indicator that a setback occurred with the tight end’s knee injury during Thursday’s go around. With Josh Freeman’s inconsistent play of late and the injury, Winslow’s owners will want to consider other options for week 15.

K Neil Rackers (Arizona Cardinals) - Already disappointing fantasy owners for the majority of the season, with just three double digit performances on the year, Rackers is rubbing salt into the wound has he has already been ruled out of the Cardinals’ week 15 game against the Detroit Lions.
