Normal fantasy football leagues have come to an end and what a great season it was. We hope that you did well in your league, or leagues, but if you’re still looking for some fantasy football action while the playoffs go on, and you’re looking for some help then look no further because the Bruno Boys will be here throughout the postseason. As such we’ll be releasing our normal weekly position rankings to help you best decide which players to go with in our Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge. To see where this round’s kickers rank continue reading the Championship Round edition of the Bruno Boys Weekly Kicker Rankings.

1. Ryan Longwell (Minnesota Vikings) @ New Orleans

After scoring 142 fantasy football points in the regular season, Longwell continued his stellar play in the Divisional Round. The Vikings cruised to a 34-3 victory over the Dallas Cowboys and Longwell was busy throughout the day. The 13-year veteran converted on two field goals and four extra points to reward those who used him in the Bruno Boys Playoff Challenge with 10 points. With the Vikings offense clicking on all cylinders, and the NFC Championship Game expected to feature plenty of offense, there is no better play than Longwell. On top of that, it’s always nice to use a experienced kicker in the playoffs and Sunday will be Longwell’s 13th postseason game.
Point Projection: 11 points

2. Garrett Hartley (New Orleans Saints) vs. Minnesota

Like many of the New Orleans players making their first playoff appearance, Hartley didn’t disappoint in the Saints blowout victory over the Arizona Cardinals. With the offense exploding for 45 points Hartley was able to convert on six extra points and knock down a 43-yard field goal attempt. His 10 fantasy points in the Divisional Round tied with Ryan Longwell for the weekly high at the kicker position and Hartley has a chance to do it again the NFC Championship Round. With both offenses playing at a high level, this game should produce enough kicking opportunities for Hartley to flirt with double-digit fantasy football points. Expect three to four extra point attempts and two to three field goal chances from the second-year pro out of University of Oklahoma.
Point Projection: 11 points

3. Matt Stover (Indianapolis Colts) vs. New York Jets

During the regular season, the Indianapolis Colts’ kicker generally spends the majority of his time kicking points-after-touchdowns, however come playoff time, the kicker’s role increases substantially. Leading up to the playoffs, Stover went three straight games played without attempting a field goal. That all changed in the Divisional Round when Stover drilled a 25-yard and 33-yard field goal. With Indy’s opponent, the New York Jets playing superb defense over the last eight weeks, we believe that Stover should play a big role in the AFC Championship Round. Like the Chargers last week, expect the Colts to move the football down the field and for the Jets’ defense to get stubborn in the red zone. With a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, we like Stover’s chances of making it two straight games with at least two field goals.
Point Projection: 9 points

4. Jay Feely (New York Jets) @ Indianapolis

The New York Jets were considered a long shot to do some damage in the playoffs but here they are one win away from representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. Despite their recent success, the kicking leg of Feely has been quiet in the postseason. With the Jets relying on good defense and a smash mouth run game, Feely has attempted just two field goals and five extra points in the Wild Card and Divisional Rounds.  Heading into the AFC Championship, New York’s game plan will stay the same, therefore Feely should be considered the riskiest kicker in your Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge.
Point Projection: 7 points
