Former Denver Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox was found not guilty Friday on two charges of sexual assault.
A jury in Castle Rock, Colo., deliberated for more than six hours over the past two days before announcing the verdict that left Cox's accuser sobbing in the courtroom.
The alleged incident took place on Sept. 6, 2010, and Cox was arrested on Dec. 9. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in May 2011.
The accuser said she did not remember having sex at Cox's apartment. She became pregnant and DNA tests show that Cox is the father of the child.
Cox had 59 tackles, two forced fumbles, 14 passes defensed and an interception as a rookie in 2010. He was released prior to the start of last season.
