Eagles TE Celek undergoes surgery on hernia, hip

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia and a torn labrum in his hip, and may miss the start of training camp next season.

Celek played through both injuries despite the Eagles being out of playoff contention for most of the season.

The 26-year-old appeared in all 16 games, catching 62 passes for 811 yards and five touchdowns.

Celek hasn't missed a game in his five-year NFL career. There is no timetable for his return to action.
