The Dallas Cowboys addressed a need in their secondary, signing cornerback Brandon Carr to a five-year contract Wednesday.
The deal was worth $50.1 million for Carr, who spent the past four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
A fifth-round pick out of Grand Valley State in 2008, Carr never missed a game with Kansas City.
He has a career-high four interceptions with 45 tackles last season.
The move came one day after the Cowboys released two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Terence Newman.
