Chiefs RB Battle ruled out of season finale

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jackie Battle has been ruled out of Sunday's regular-season finale at Denver.

Battle hurt in foot in last week's overtime loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Thrust into a prominent role following a season-ending injury to Jamaal Charles, Battle finishes the season with 597 yards and two touchdowns on 149 carries.

He had never had more than 20 carries in four previous seasons with Kansas City.

Thomas Jones and Dexter McClusker will likely see the bulk of the carries in Battle's absence.
