Week 10 of the 2012 season kicked off Thursday night with a convincing 27-10 win for the Indianapolis Colts over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Andrew Luck did have a pretty good matchup, but didn’t exactly light it up with his arm. He did, however, punch in two rushing touchdowns for his fantasy owners and Reggie Wayne added 96 yards on eight receptions, so hopefully owners of those respective players were happy with those results.

Now let’s look at some matchups that we’ll see on Sunday. These are critical matchups that fantasy owners need to look at before finalizing their lineups, as we head down the stretch towards the playoffs. Let’s jump in and see what we have. Enjoy.

Jay Cutler vs. Houston Texans Defense

The Chicago Bears’ polarizing quarterback, Jay Cutler, is coming off his best game of the year where he threw three touchdowns and no interceptions. Having Brandon Marshall, who was on the other end of all those touchdowns, makes things pretty easy for the young gunslinger.

They have something special together, but their connection will have to reach a new level this week if the Bears are going to have any shot at beating the Houston Texans. Cutler has posted three single-digit fantasy days in 2012 and all those came against Top-15 pass defenses. In those games, Marshall was held scoreless and failed to reach 100 yards receiving—that’s only happened four times this year. The Texans boast the league’s No. 3-ranked pass defense and are only giving up an average of 12.1 fantasy points per game. The Bruno Boys have Cutler at No. 22 in this week’s QB rankings, so owners should look elsewhere if possible.
