Oct 31, 2012
Welcome to Week 9 of the 2012 NFL season and the fifth week of byes. Four teams are off this week including San Francisco, St. Louis, the New York Jets, and New England. Off the table are players like Sam Bradford, Dustin Keller, the 49ers defense, and no Rob Gronkowski.
Here are our “Fantasy Football Start ‘Ems” for Week 8 of the 2012 season. As a reminder, everyone knows to start elite players like Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, and LeSean McCoy, so when we compile our list we make sure to focus on serviceable players that will benefit from a favorable matchup.
RUNNING BACKS – START ’EM
Jonathan Stewart (Carolina Panthers) at Washington Redskins
The running back committee in Carolina was given some clarity last week when Stewart was given 17 carries as opposed to /b>DeAngelo Williams’ 11. Neither was expected to do well against the Bears but the Redskins? That’s a different story. London Fletcher played a heroic game in Week 8, but is now having balance issues and if he’s less than 100%, you can expect the Redskins defense to crumble without his presence. Stewart has historically done well when given the majority of the carries. We think Stewart cements his new role in the Panthers’ backfield with a game to write home about.
