FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 8 STARTS: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
Welcome to Week 8 of the 2012 NFL season and the fifth week of byes. Four teams are off this week including Baltimore, Houston, Cincinnati, and Buffalo. Off the table are players like A.J. Green, Arian Foster, Stevie Johnson, and Ray Rice.
Here are our “Fantasy Football Start ‘Ems” for Week 8 of the 2012 season. As a reminder, everyone knows to start elite players like Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, and LeSean McCoy, so when we compile our list we make sure to focus on serviceable players that will benefit from a favorable matchup.
QUARTERBACKS – START ’EM
Andrew Luck (Indianapolis Colts) at Tennessee Titans
Fantasy owners won’t find a better week to start the #1 pick than against the Titans who average 281.4 passing yards and allowed a league-worst 16 touchdowns and 72.7 completion pct. The rookie could have his best day as a pro and against the Browns in Week 7, Luck displayed his athleticism by running for two touchdowns, showing he can still use his feet to make plays when the coverage is tough.

Matt Hasselbeck (Tennessee Titans) vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Titans’ backup spread the ball against the Bills in Week 7 and should prepare similarly for the Colts; they’ve surrendered 12 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions–this despite averaging a stingy 210.7 passing yards. This may be Jake Locker’s team–eventually–but Hasselbeck still has gas in the tank and continues to give the offense the best shot at scoring points.
