Thankfully we are beyond the point of having six teams on bye, yet we are still stuck in the weeks of having four teams on bye. As fantasy teams are preparing for the stretch run for their playoffs it is important to consider all start/sit decisions regardless of the position. Our Week 8 - Sit ‘Ems are here to help you with out with that.
One of the most popular pickups this week has been Arizona Cardinals running back LaRod Stephens-Howling. Getting his first career 100-yard game and a touchdown last week will cause a spike in pickups like that, yet Stephens-Howling is one of many key players you should avoid this week. More on Stephens-Howling, and the rest of the Fantasy Football Week 8 Sit ‘Ems below.
WIDE RECEIVERS - SIT ‘EM
Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers) @ Chicago
Ah what the heck, let’s continue to kick the Panthers while they’re down. Carolina wide receiver Steve Smith has seen his production decline from last season as a result of Newton’s struggles, but also because teams see Smith as the only legitimate receiving threat (with no offense meant towards Brandon LaFell). Smith is still searching for his first touchdown of the season but won’t get it this week against the Bears. Chicago shut down Lions receiver Calvin Johnson last week, limiting him to just three catches for 34 yards. They’ll do the same this week to Smith.
