The toughest part about a week in which six teams are on bye is that some players that we’d normally recommend benching are starts simply because of diluted playing pool. Now, some of the names on this list are big names, as usual, because we’re not going to recommend benching somebody who you already know should be benched. This list is for the guys who you think could start but find themselves with a bad situation. Take Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, for example. He’s averaged 19 fantasy points a game in his last three games and looked good last week on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. Yet, Stafford finds himself on this list.
WIDE RECEIVERS - SIT ‘EM
Andre Roberts (Arizona Cardinals) @ Minnesota
Things were looking up for Arizona wide receiver Andre Roberts in the first four weeks of the season. He had four touchdowns during that span and looked to be a key part of the passing game. However, he’s got just seven catches in the last two weeks combined and hasn’t found the end zone either. The matchup doesn’t give hope that Roberts turns things around this week against the Vikings. Minnesota hasn’t given up a touchdown to a wide receiver in the last four weeks, and they’ve given up just two all season.
