FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 6 SITS: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
Just as it seemed the Packers had found a running back they liked in Cedric Benson, he then goes down with a foot injury that will likely cost him the rest of the season. Enter Alex Green. Green, a second-year player out of Hawaii, is going to make his first professional start this week against the Houston Texans. Green’s fantasy value has skyrocketed because of Benson’s injury. That, and fantasy owners pounce on any available running back who’s assured starting touches. However, Green is one of many players on our Week 6 Sit ‘Ems list. Starting touches does not always equal fantasy production, and Green is one of many players we expect to have a subpar week.
TIGHT ENDS- SIT ‘EM
Jermaine Gresham (Cincinnati Bengals) @ Cleveland
One of the few tight ends that’s still available in a lot of leagues is Jermaine Gresham of the Cincinnati Bengals. His lackluster yet consistent fantasy production has given his value an increase as the bye weeks hit. In each of the last three weeks he’s caught five passes, yet with just one touchdown during that span Gresham’s upside isn’t big. That potential is even lower this week against a Cleveland Browns team that’s actually very good at defending against opposing tight ends. Consider the Browns haven’t given up a touchdown to a tight end since Week 1, and when these two teams met in Week 2 Gresham caught four passes for just 37 yards. If you’re looking for a spot starter at tight end this week, it’s best to look elsewhere.

Brandon Pettigrew (Detroit Lions) vs. Philadelphia
With extremely consistent fantasy production season, albeit never great, Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew has been a good part of most fantasy lineups. He won’t be this week, however, against the Philadelphia Eagles. Consider the Eagles are giving up an average of just four fantasy points and 37.2 receiving yards per game to tight ends. Also, Philadelphia’s given up just one touchdown to a tight end this season. If you’re stuck then Pettigrew is not a terrible start this week considering the lack of tight ends available, but his upside is very low against Philadelphia.
