FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 6 SITS: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
Just as it seemed the Packers had found a running back they liked in Cedric Benson, he then goes down with a foot injury that will likely cost him the rest of the season. Enter Alex Green. Green, a second-year player out of Hawaii, is going to make his first professional start this week against the Houston Texans. Green’s fantasy value has skyrocketed because of Benson’s injury. That, and fantasy owners pounce on any available running back who’s assured starting touches. However, Green is one of many players on our Week 6 Sit ‘Ems list. Starting touches does not always equal fantasy production, and Green is one of many players we expect to have a subpar week.
RUNNING BACKS - SIT ‘EM
Stevan Ridley (New England Patriots) @ Seattle
Having never put much value in the running back position, the New England Patriots are at least running with a primary back this season in Stevan Ridley. Ridley’s been good, too, with 490 rushing yards and four touchdowns thus far. Three of those touchdowns came in the last two weeks, so it would appear he has some momentum heading into this week’s game at the Seattle Seahawks. However, the Seahawks have a really good defense. Seattle ranks fifth or better in every major team defensive category, and they’re giving up an average of just 7.2 fantasy points per game to running backs. Plus, the Seahawks have given up just two rushing touchdowns to running backs this season. Ridley’s risky even as a FLEX play.
