FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 5 SITS: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
Setting your lineup can be difficult once the full bye weeks commence, and that is where we find ourselves in Week 5. The waiver wire has been picked clean, options are limited and you’re stuck with some tough lineup decisions. Our Fantasy FootballWeek 5 Sit ‘Ems should help you decide who to bench, and as usual there are some big names on this list.
The biggest names are running backs Fred Jackson of the Buffalo Bills and Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans. Jackson returned from injury to play last week but only had 29 rushing yards. Johnson had his best game of the season with 141 yards, but he still finds himself on this list as well because of a tough matchup in Week 5.
WIDE RECEIVERS - SIT ‘EM
Jeremy Maclin (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Pittsburgh
It has been a disappointing season thus far for Philadelphia Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin, though, to be fair, he has been dealing with a hip injury. In last week’s win over the New York Giants, Maclin managed just one catch for seven yards despite playing against a beat-up Giants secondary. Maclin has a terrible matchup this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who rank third in passing yards allowed. Pittsburgh is coming off a bye so they’ve had two weeks to prepare for this game, and the Steelers get their two best defensive playmakers back from injury in linebacker James Harrison and safety Troy Polamalu. Expect another disappointing week from Maclin.

Pierre Garcon (Washington Redskins) vs. Atlanta
Though he is going to play this week against the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon is still dealing with a foot injury and is far from being fully healthy. He played last week but caught just one pass for 20 yards. Until Garcon proves he’s over the foot injury he’s a very risky start. He’s an especially bad start this week against a Falcons defense that is allowing a league-low 13.3 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receiver corps. Atlanta has given up just two touchdowns to receivers this season, and you shouldn’t expect Garcon to be the third.
