FANTASY FOOTBALL CUT LIST: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
The fantasy football season is young but we’ve already seen enough of some players to know that they are going to live up to our draft day expectations of them. Whether the plays has fallen behind on their teams’ depth charts, suffered an injury or bad play, these guys just aren’t worth rostering right now.
In any case, it’s really easy to want to cut all kinds of players this early in the season but we definitely advise against it. We’ve already release our list of waiver pickups to target in the Weekly Waiver Wire Savior. There are a lot of underachieving players that we would hang onto for at least another couple weeks, but here’s a list of the guys we’d drop right now to make room for potential additions. Just remember it’s too early in the season to start dumping elite players like Chris Johnson. Give your elite fantasy football players a chance to bounce back this week. A lot can change with another game in the books.
WIDE RECEIVERS—CUT THEM LOOSE
Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Baldwin ran into some bad luck to start the season. He spent the entire preseason sitting out while recovering from a hamstring surgery. No matter how minor the surgery, it caused him to lose his depth chart position to, well, everybody. He currently sits at 5th on the depth chart behind Rice, Tate, Obamanu, and Edwards. The chances of Baldwin working his way back up the depth anytime soon are minimal. Add to that the recent emergence of tight end Anthony McCoy and there just isn’t much value for Baldwin. His stats have reflected his depth chart position. He has seven targets through two games and has caught but three of them for 13 total yards. Not exactly rosterable. Amazingly he’s still owned in 12% of Fleaflicker leagues. Drop him for one of the numerous better options at wide receiver.

Eddie Royal, WR, San Diego Chargers
It’s surprising just how small a role Royal has had in the Chargers offense given how poorly Meachem has played. This week the offense was missing Antonio Gates and Royal still had next to no playing time. Through two weeks Royal has just five targets and four receptions for 22 yards. That places Royal as the 7th most targeted player on the team. With Mathews coming back soon, things will only get worse. Royal will be dropped even further if/when Vincent Brown returns. For now stay away from Eddie Royal.
