FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 3 STARTS:  QB  |  RB  |  WR  |  TE  |  K  |  DEF

It’s Week 3 of the 2012 NFL season, and last week’s injuries have sent a flurry of owners to the waiver wires! This week’s biggest concern is finding guys to fill the holes of Matt Forte, Aaron Hernandez, and Ahmad Bradshaw, while some are just trying to decide if it’s panic time for Chris Johnson owners. Be sure to check out our Waiver Wire Savior , Waiver Wire Cut List articles, and Long-Term Investing Articles.

Here are our “Fantasy Football Start ‘Ems” for Week 3 of the 2012 season. As a reminder, everyone knows to start elite players like Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, and LeSean McCoy, so when we compile our list we make sure to focus on serviceable players that will benefit from a favorable matchup.

WIDE RECEIVERS–START’EM

Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Tampa Bay

While we doubt Tony Romo will put up over 500 yards in the air, fantasy owners of Austin have to like how easily the Giants receivers were able to get a step on, or behind the Tampa cornerbacks. Right now Austin is the most consistent receiver for the Cowboys and appears healthy as ever. This is a juicy matchup for Austin and one that s a fantasy football owner you should make sure to exploit.

Stevie Johnson (Buffalo Bills) at Cleveland

As mentioned in my C.J. Spiller start recommendation, both starting corners are out for the Browns and that situation isn’t getting better overnight as Joe Haden’s suspension is for three more games. Johnson will get either Dimitri Patterson or pint-sized Buster Skrine on him so this is a good week for Ryan Fitzpatrick to turn it around while the Browns are short-handed in the secondary.
