FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 3 STARTS: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
It’s Week 3 of the 2012 NFL season, and last week’s injuries have sent a flurry of owners to the waiver wires! This week’s biggest concern is finding guys to fill the holes of Matt Forte, Aaron Hernandez, and Ahmad Bradshaw, while some are just trying to decide if it’s panic time for Chris Johnson owners. Be sure to check out our Waiver Wire Savior , Waiver Wire Cut List articles, and Long-Term Investing Articles.
Here are our “Fantasy Football Start ‘Ems” for Week 3 of the 2012 season. As a reminder, everyone knows to start elite players like Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, and LeSean McCoy, so when we compile our list we make sure to focus on serviceable players that will benefit from a favorable matchup.
QUARTERBACKS–START’EM
Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers) at Oakland
The Steelers are third from the bottom (70.5 yards) in rushing and has earned just seven first downs with the run and 28 passing. There’s no use tiptoeing around it, the Steelers need Big Ben to win football games. The Raiders don’t give up a ton of yardage through the air, but they don’t apply much pressure either, getting to the quarterback just twice in eight quarters of football. Know what happens when you give Roethlisberger extra time? Big plays. Oakland made Ryan Tannehill look good last week; what happens when Big Ben comes to visit?
