FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 2 STARTS:  QB  |  RB  |  WR  |  TE  |  K  |  DEF

It’s Week 2 of the 2012 NFL season, and what a week we had to start the season! We saw a jaw-dropping debut from Robert Griffin III, the New England Patriots are reloaded, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to have a hard-hitting defense again. We finally got to see several teams and players in action who we had several questions about going into this season, but be careful not to overreact after one week.

Here are our “Fantasy Football Start ‘Ems” for Week 2 of the 2012 season. As a reminder, everyone knows to start elite players like Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, and LeSean McCoy, so when we compile our list we make sure to focus on serviceable players that will benefit from a favorable matchup.

KICKERS–START’EM

Billy Cundiff (Washington Redskins) at St. Louis

Cundiff was 4-4 against the Saints, with two in the 40-49 yard range. The Rams may not be able to hold off the Redskins, but I expect their defense to be good enough to stall a few drives short of the red zone.

Robbie Gould (Chicago Bears) at Green Bay

The Packers have problems on defense, but they stood their ground on three occasions to force three field goals from David Akers, including a record tying 63-yarder. When looking at fantasy kickers, one has to target defenses that bend but don’t break and the Packers are a good example of that, playing into Gould’s favor.
