Week 9 of the fantasy football season is in the books and we now have a pretty good idea of the players set to underachieve this season. Some players are just stuck on terrible teams while others are just plain bad. We’ve also added a few players to the list that should be dropped because of injury. If you read our Waiver Wire Savior articles and are wondering who to drop this week, have a look at the list below. All of these guys are safe cuts in most league formats.
KICKERS—CUT THEM LOOSE
Connor Barth, K, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Connor Barth has been a pretty solid kicker this season but his last few weeks have shown some red flags. He’s missed half of his last eight field goals including two in Week 9. That alone is enough to recommend dropping him in leagues that penalize for missed kicks. To make matters worse, he’s up against a San Diego Chargers’ defense giving up only 4.43 points per game to opposing kickers. They haven’t even allowed a single field goal attempt in half of their games this year. Stay away from this matchup if you want points from the kicker position this week.
Consider Dropping In: 10-team, 12-team and 14-team Leagues
Cut Them Loose Watch List: Nick Novak (San Diego Chargers)
Keep Them Cut: Rian Lindell (Buffalo Bills), Justin Medlock (Carolina Panthers), Rob Bironas (Tennessee Titans)
