FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 10 SITS:  QB  |  RB  |  WR  |  TE  |  K  |  DEF

One of the best games this week features two of the league’s elite - the Houston Texans and the Chicago Bears. Although the game is expected to be a great one, it’s not going to be so great if you own fantasy players from those teams. The quarterbacks from those teams - Matt Schaub and Jay Cutler - find themselves on our Week 10 - Sit ‘Ems list this week as both are expected to struggle against the opposing defense.

Another big game, though not because of the team’s records, is between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams find themselves with coaches and quarterbacks on the hot seat, and both teams find themselves with players on our Fantasy Football Sit ‘Ems list this week as well.

QUARTERBACKS - SIT ‘EM

Matt Schaub (Houston Texans) @ Chicago

He’s only had four interceptions all season and has four multiple touchdown games, so what is not to like about Schaub? Schaub has had some pretty good games but he’s been inconsistent week to week, and a lot of that blame falls on the fact that the Texans are very good defensively and at running the ball. This week Schaub faces a Chicago defense that has forced 17 interceptions this season and is giving up an average of just nine fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Don’t expect Schaub to be a total disaster like some other quarterbacks have been against Chicago, but don’t expect much.

Jay Cutler (Chicago Bears) vs. Houston

Like Schaub, Cutler has had some pretty good games this season. He is coming off his best performance yet, having thrown for 229 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in a win against the Tennessee Titans. However, like Schaub, Cutler has been very inconsistent week to week. Just two weeks ago against the Carolina Panthers he only threw for 186 yards with one touchdown and three turnovers, and that game was at home, too. If Cutler can’t play well against a mediocre Carolina defense, how is going to get it done against a terrific Houston one? The obvious answer is that he won’t get it done this week so put him on the bench.

Carson Palmer (Oakland Raiders) @ Baltimore

Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer has been a nice revelation this season. Not only has he been consistent but he’s been improving as the season goes on, including throwing for 414 yards with four touchdowns, one two-point conversion and three interceptions against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. The problem with Palmer this week is that he’s facing a Baltimore Ravens defense that is very good at defending quarterbacks. The Ravens have forced nine interceptions and 13 sacks, and they’re giving up just 11 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Palmer still has some very good matchups left this season, unfortunately this week is not one of them.
