WEEK 10 RANKINGS QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
The fantasy playoffs are looming and time is short for many fantasy teams on the cusp of the playoffs. The wide receiver position is arguably the most unpredictable position in fantasy and fantasy owners need to prepare for every week like it’s their last. The Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals and the Cleveland Browns are on a bye this week, what receivers can best replace the likes of Larry Fitzgerald, Randall Cobb or Josh Gordon this week? Read our rankings to figure out who should start and who should sit.
Who will be among the top scoring wide receivers this week? Read our fantasy football Week 10 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings below to gain an advantage over your friends and competitors alike.
::RANKINGS UPDATED AS OF NOVEMBER 8, 2012::
1. A.J. Green (Cincinnati Bengals) vs. New York Giants
It looks like Green really wants that fantasy MVP trophy. Going up against Hall of Famer in waiting, Champ Bailey, Green caught seven passes for 99 yards and scored a touchdown against the Denver Broncos in Week 9. He has been seemingly unstoppable this season scoring eight touchdowns over the last seven Cincinnati Bengals games. The New York Giants patchwork secondary has allowed an average of 24.0 fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position this season, which no doubt makes Green’s fantasy owners salivate with the possibilities. Look for Green to be one of best fantasy receivers this week.
Point Projection: 18 points
2. Victor Cruz (New York Giants) @ Cincinnati
No Salsa dancing or a 100-yard receiving game! Cruz caught five passes for 67 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. Eli Manning struggling for a second straight game and Cruz receiving bruised ribs at the hands of safety, Ryan Clark aided in Cruz’ second straight mediocre performance. Over the New York Giants last two games Cruz has only seven catches for 90 yards. Cruz is a strong bounce back candidate against the Cincinnati Bengals this week, because he has been a top five fantasy receiver all season long and the New York Giants offense will be motivated to have a better performance after their debacle against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cruz is a solid WR1 as always.
Point Projection: 17 points

3. Brandon Marshall (Chicago Bears) vs. Houston
There maybe no hotter receiver in football than Brandon Marshall. Marshall had his fourth 100-yard plus performance against the Tennessee Titans in Week 9, catching nine passes for 122 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Marshall has now scored seven touchdowns this season and has a chance to score his eighth against a Houston Texans team that has allowed 464 receiving yards and six touchdowns to the wide receiver position over their past three games. It’s not an easy matchup for Marshall, but there’s little reason not to believe in him, given his body of work this season. It seems unlikely that Marshall will suddenly lay an egg this week.
Point Projection: 17 points
4. Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons) @ New Orleans
Rowdy Roddy came to play in Week 9, catching seven passes for 118 yards against the Dallas Cowboys. It was a nice comeback effort for White, after securing only three catches for 38 yards in Week 8. White has a great chance at another fine fantasy outing against a New Orleans’ Saints team that has allowed the most fantasy points to the wide receiver position this season (30.6). White, who had 24 receptions for 274 yards against the New Orleans Saints in two games last season, is looking like a nice start this week.
Point Projection: 16 points
5. Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions) @ Minnesota
Johnson had seven catches for 129 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9. It was one of Megatron’s best performances of the season, which is kind disappointing after all the high expectations before the season. The Minnesota Vikings held Johnson to only five receptions for 54 yards in Week 4, but they will be missing top corner Chris Cook this week because of injury. Matthew Stafford has been impressive since the Detroit Lion’s bye week, so Johnson has a chance to build upon his numbers from last week. Needless to say, Johnson is a solid WR1 this week.
Point Projection: 16 points
6. Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons) @ New Orleans
Give this man a nickname! Jones caught five passes for 129 yards against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9. It was Jones’ second 100 yard plus receiving game in a row and he will have a great shot of making it three in a row against a hapless New Orleans Saints secondary that has allowed the most touchdowns to the wide receiver position this season (13). Make sure Jones is in your lineup this week.
Point Projection: 15 points
7. Mike Wallace (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Kansas City
Wallace had three catches for 66 yards and scored a touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 9. It was the fifth time this season Wallace has scored 10 fantasy points or more in a game. Even though Wallace didn’t have much luck against the Kansas City Chiefs last season (two receptions for 17 yards), the Kansas City Chiefs secondary has played so poorly over their last three games (521 receiving yards and six touchdowns to the wide receiver position), that Wallace’s fantasy owner’s should be confident in starting him this week.
Point Projection: 15 points
8. Wes Welker (New England Patriots) vs. Buffalo
Welker hasn’t skipped a beat since last season, with 60 catches for 736 yards and two touchdowns in eight games. He has also topped the 100 yard receiving mark four times this season. Welker has torched the Buffalo Bills in the past and has burned them once already this season, catching nine passes for 129 yards in Week 4. Welker is a solid WR1, going against one of the leagues worst pass defenses.
Point Projection: 15 points
9. Vincent Jackson (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. San Diego
Maybe we could drop that Bi-Weekly Jackson nickname for now. Jackson had two catches for 84 yards and scored a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders in Week 9. Over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last four games, Jackson has been one of the most lucrative receivers in fantasy, averaging 3.7 catches, 101.5 yards per game and scoring four touchdowns. The San Diego Chargers have allowed the ninth most fantasy points (23.0) to the wide receiver position this year. Jackson will no doubt be looking to exact some revenge on his former team and is looking like a strong play this week.
Point Projection: 15 points
10. Demaryius Thomas (Denver Broncos) @ Carolina
Thomas caught six passes for 77 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9. It wasn’t one of Thomas’ best efforts, but it was a decent performance overall. Even with Eric Decker scoring a ton of touchdowns in recent weeks, Thomas has still been heavily involved in the offense receiving 17 targets over the past two games. The Carolina Panthers have only allowed five touchdowns to the wide receiver position this season, but Thomas has been strong against some solid pass defenses already this season (Atlanta, Pittsburgh, etc…) and let’s not forget that Peyton Manning is his quarterback. Thomas is a solid WR1 this week.
Point Projection: 14 points
11. Eric Decker (Denver Broncos) @ Carolina
Decker had eight receptions for 99 yards and two touchdowns against Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9. It was a nice performance for Decker, who has now scored seven touchdowns over the Denver Broncos’ last five games and four over their last two. The Carolina Panthers have been solid against the pass this season, but Peyton Manning has been on fire of late and Decker and Demaryius Thomas has been reaping the benefits. Decker is a solid WR1 in PPR formats this week.
Point Projection: 14 points
12. Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis Colts) @ Jacksonville
Wayne caught seven passes for 78 yards and a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins in Week 9. It was a nice game for Wayne, who was targeted nine times in the contest. Andrew Luck has improved as the season has gone on, which likely means continued success for Wayne. Look for Wayne to take advantage of Jacksonville Jaguars’ team that has allowed 21.0 fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position this season.
Point Projection: 14 points
13. Marques Colston (New Orleans Saints) vs. Atlanta
Colston had four receptions for 46 yards and scored a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9. The touchdown was Colston’s sixth in five games. The Atlanta Falcons have allowed the third least fantasy points to the wide receiver position this season, but Colston dominated them in two games last season (15 receptions for 194 yards). Even with a healthy Jimmy Graham, Colston should still see his fair share of targets and be successful this week.
Point Projection: 14 points
14. Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) @ Philadelphia
Austin had seven catches for 76 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9. He led the team in targets (9) and produced his third straight game of at least seven fantasy points scored. Austin struggled against the Philadelphia Eagles last season (11 receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown in two games). However, Austin has been the most consistent receiver on the Dallas Cowboys this season and the Philadelphia Eagles pass defense has been rancid in recent weeks allowing 471 yards and four touchdowns to the wide receiver position in that span. Look for the former Khardashian beau, Austin, to have another productive game this week.
Point Projection: 12 points
15. Torrey Smith (Baltimore Ravens) vs. Oakland
Smith had four receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 9. He was still able to have a productive fantasy week regardless of seeing a good amount of Joe Haden last week. Smith has now scored five touchdowns in the Baltimore Ravens’ last six games and has a solid chance at scoring his sixth touchdown of the season against the Oakland Raiders. The Oakland Raiders have allowed four touchdowns to the wide receiver position over their last four games. Smith is looking like a solid WR2 this week.
Point Projection: 11 points

16. Andre Johnson (Houston Texans) @ Chicago
Johnson had his second 100 yard receiving game of the season against the Buffalo Bills in Week 9, catching eight passes for 118 yards. Johnson has looked healthy and has been productive over the Houston Texans last three games, catching 25 passes for 279 yards. The Chicago Bears have only allowed four touchdowns to the wide receiver postion this season, but lately have given up an average of 22.3 fantasy points over their last three games to wide receivers. Look for Johnson to have a solid yardage total this week, but he doesn’t look like a good bet to score a touchdown.
Point Projection: 11 points
17. Brandon Lloyd (New England Patriots) vs. Buffalo
Lloyd has had an up and down fantasy season so far, but his stock appears to be trending upward after having two receptions for 28 yards and scoring two touchdowns in Week 9 against the St. Louis Rams. Floyd has received inconsistent targets this season, but will likely see plenty against a Buffalo Bills’ team that has allowed the fourth most fantasy points (26.0) to the wide receiver position this season. Look for Lloyd, who had three receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, to have one of his better games of the season this week.
Point Projection: 11 points
18. Denarious Moore (Oakland Raiders) @ Baltimore
Moore had four receptions for 66 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were not willing to give up the big play to Moore, playing back in coverage, but he was still able to have a somewhat productive game. Moore has a chance to score his fourth touchdown in five games against a Baltimore Ravens’ team that has allowed 401 yards and three touchdowns to the wide receiver position over their last three games. Moore is still learning to be a No. 1 receiver in the league and this week he may just take another step towards that.
Point Projection: 11 points
19. Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers) vs. Denver
Smith caught three passes for 41 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Redskins in Week 9. It has been a productive three game stretch for Smith, who has 17 catches for 242 yards and a touchdown in that span. This week will be a difficult test for the aging speedster going against elite cornerback Champ Bailey and a Denver Broncos defense that held the New Orleans’ Saints’ mighty receiving offense to only eight fantasy points in Week 8. Look for Smith to receive enough targets to be productive, but don’t bet on a big game this week.
Point Projection: 10 points
20. Mike Williams (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. San Diego
That a boy Tampa Bay Mike! Williams caught four balls for 68 yards and a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders in Week 9. Vincent Jackson is clearly the No. 1 receiver on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Williams has performed like a stud over the last four games, catching 18 passes for 285 yards and scoring three touchdowns. The San Diego Chargers have performed better against the wide receiver position in recent weeks, but they have also played struggling offensive teams (Cleveland, Kansas City) in that span. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense is rolling right now and Williams has performed well enough to be trusted as a WR2 option this week.
Point Projection: 10 points
21. Dez Bryant (Dallas Cowboys) @ Philadelphia
The man with the hands the sized of canned hams wasn’t much involved in the Dallas Cowboys offense in Week 9, catching one pass for 15 yards against the Atlanta Falcons. He was only targeted four times in the game. Bryant has been up and down over the Dallas Cowboys last four games, but he has a chance to take advantage of a desperate Philadelphia Eagles’ team that has allowed an average of 20.9 fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position. Look for Bryant to have a much better game than he had in Week 9.
Point Projection: 10 points
22. Steve Johnson (Buffalo Bills) @ New England **QUESTIONABLE - STATUS UNCERTAIN FOR WEEK 10
For only the third time this season, Johnson scored less than eight fantasy points, catching three passes for 29 yards against the Houston Texans. Despite this ugly performance, Johnson figures to bounce back this week against a New England Patriots’ team that has allowed the sixth most fantasy points to the wide receiver position (25.3) this season. Johnson wasn’t very successful against the New England Patriots in Week 4 (two receptions for 23 yards), but he has a good history against them in the past and is one of the most solid wide receivers in fantasy.
Point Projection: 9 points
23. Hakeem Nicks (New York Giants) @ Cincinnati
He’s losing points to Stevie in the popularity contest. Nicks had one reception for 10 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. He has gone through a rough patch over the New York Giants last four games, catching only 13 passes for 153 yards. However, Nicks has looked healthy in recent weeks and has a chance to break out this week against a reeling Cincinnati Bengals defense that allowed 219 yards and a couple of touchdowns to the Denver Broncos receivers in Week 9.
Point Projection: 9 points
24. Malcom Floyd (San Diego Chargers) @ Tampa Bay
Floyd had four catches for 48 yards and scored a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9. The touchdown was Floyd’s first since Week 1. Averaging 3.6 catches and 56.5 yards per game, Floyd is having a solid season, even with the lack touchdown scoring. Floyd may have a chance of hitting pay dirt for a second straight week against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ team that has allowed 722 receiving yards and four touchdowns to the wide receiver position over their last three games. Aquib Talib isn’t walking back through the door to shore up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ secondary, so Floyd could be regarded as lower tier WR3 this week.
Point Projection: 9 points
25. Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City Chiefs) @ Pittsburgh
Bowe had eight catches for 79 yards against the San Diego Chargers in Week 9. Once again, Bowe led the team in catches, yards and targets. Averaging five catches per game this season, Bowe has given a real boost to his fantasy owners in PPR leagues this year and could be in line to raise that average after meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. Look for Bowe to have a nice game against a Pittsburgh Steelers’ team that has given up two touchdowns over their past three game to the wide receiver position. Bowe hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 4, so the chance of hitting pay dirt this week seems dicey, but he should continue to post high catch and yardage totals.
Point Projection: 8 points
