Week 2 of the NFL season is now behind us, and fantasy football owners can begin to see some trends developing for better or worse. Injuries continued to be a factor this past Sunday, as the Kansas City Chiefs (and fantasy owners that drafted him early in Round 1)lost running back Jamal Charles for the season due to a torn ACL.
As is always the case, injuries and matchups can create opportunities for fantasy football owners to make a shrewd waiver wire move and either reverse their fortunes or continue momentum built up early in the season. On that note, here are the Bruno Boys’ recommended “Fantasy Football Waiver Wire - Pick Them Ups” for the week ahead.
Quick Note: Not all players that had strong Week 2 outings are on this list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have value. If you have any questions about free agents not discussed in this article, head over to the forums and we’ll help you with the answers.
QUARTERBACKS - PICK THEM UP
Matt Hasselbeck (Tennessee Titans)
Hasselbeck went 30-for-42 for 358 yards with a touchdown and an interception against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2, as he was very productive in a challenging matchup.
He has a favorable matchup coming in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, who just allowed Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback Andy Dalton to pass for 332 yards on Sunday. As long as running back Chris Johnson struggles, he had just 53 rushing yards on 24 carries on Sunday, Hasselbeck and the passing game may have to carry a lot of weight in the Titans’ offense.
Things do stand to be tougher for Hasselbeck beyond next week, with a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers looming in Week 5, but those in need of a QB2 as a one-week play for Week 3 should consider adding him.
Consider Adding In: 10-Team, 12-Team and 14-Team Leagues, particularly as a matchup play for Week 3

I have Foster, Tate, Forte, Starks, McGahee, R.Bush…would I be nuts to drop Bush or Mac for Grossman? I currently only have Cutler!
