Kyle Orton (Kansas City Chiefs)
Orton was put on waivers by the Denver Broncos last week, and was then claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite some speculation he would play, he was inactive in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers as Tyler Palko made a second straight start. It may only be a matter of time before Orton sees action, perhaps in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears, another of his former teams. The Bears have allowed at least 289 passing yards in each of their last three games, but have intercepted 12 passes in their last four games. After a tough matchup in Week 14 against the New York Jets, a couple of favorable matchups will be coming against the Green Bay Packers in Week 15 and Oakland Raiders in Week 16. Both the Packers and Raiders entered Week 12 in the bottom ten of the league against opposing passers, so Orton could find some success in a couple of key weeks for fantasy football owners.

Christian Ponder (Minnesota Vikings)
Ponder went 17-for-25 for 186 yards and a touchdown along with nine rushing yards against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, as he went without an interception for the first time since his second NFL start in Week 8. With running back Adrian Peterson (left ankle) possibly going to miss multiple games, the passing game may have to take center stage for Minnesota for better or worse. Week 13 brings a nice matchup at home against the Denver Broncos, who despite some recent improvement still entered Week 12 allowing 18.2 fantasy points per game (second-most in the league) to opposing signal callers. After that some more potentially favorable matchups are coming in Week 14-16 (Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins) in what are obviously some key weeks for fantasy football owners. Ponder’s appeal outside of deep leagues is limited, but those in 12 and 14-team leagues who are in need of a QB2 with some upside should consider adding him. He is still available in 84 percent of Fleaflicker leagues.
