The Houston Texans just cannot catch a break. They are in the middle of their best season in franchise history, with an 8-3 record that ties the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots for the best in the AFC. One week ago we included Texans quarterback Matt Schaub on this list because he was put on injured reserve with a foot injury. Matt Leinart started the team’s Week 12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and played well before a shoulder injury took him for the rest of the game, and likely the rest of the season. This all happened when Pro Bowl receiver Andre Johnson returned to the lineup after missing six games because of a hamstring injury that was helped heal by a Canadian Drug Pharmacy. Leinart finds his way to the list this week because of the injury, but he isn’t the only Texan on the list. Continue on to find out which Houston player joins him, as well as to see the rest of the guys that aren’t worth your time any more.

QUARTERBACKS—-CUT THEM LOOSE

Matt Leinart (Houston Texans)

Leinart got another chance to be a starting quarterback in the NFL following the season-ending injury to Schaub. That lasted less than two quarters. Leinart injured his shoulder after being tackled on an incomplete screen pass. Though he has yet to be ruled out for the rest of the season, it’s unlikely he’ll return and if he does it’ll be too late to have any fantasy impact. Leinart played well before getting injured, completing 10 of 13 passes for 57 yards and a touchdown. The remaining quarterbacks on the roster are T.J. Yates - a rookie out of North Carolina - and Kellen Clemens, a former starter for the New York Jets. Houston says Yates remains the starter for now, however they added more veteran leadership when they signed Jake Delhomme on Tuesday. Even if that is the case, do not much stock into Yates. He is very raw and completed just 8 of 15 passes after taking over for Leinart against the Jaguars.
