17. St. Louis Rams (@ Seattle)

The Rams allowed 26 points and 389 offensive yards to the San Francisco 49ers last week, as they broke a string of two straight games posting double-digit fantasy points (ESPN scoring). Week 14 brings their second game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks, who are 28th in the league in total offense (298.5 yards per game) and 26th in scoring offense (18 points per game). When the two teams played in Week 11 the Rams allowed 24 points to the Seahawks, but also held them to less than 300 yards of offense while forcing two turnovers and registering four sacks. The St. Louis defense had been usable for fantasy owners for a stretch of weeks prior to last week, and given their favorable circumstances they could be used as a low-end No.1 fantasy defense for Week 14.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

18. Dallas Cowboys (vs. New York Giants)

Dallas is ninth in the NFL against the run (100.5 yards per game) and has also been fairly stingy in terms of scoring defense (20.3 points per game) so far this season. They now get a tough matchup against the New York Giants in Week 14, as the Giants have the league’s fourth-best passing offense (296.1 yards per game) as quarterback Eli Manning has thrown multiple passing touchdowns in five of his last six games with 300 or more passing yards four times in that span. The Cowboys’ defense has not performed well over the last few weeks after being a solid fantasy option for the most part prior to that. This week does not bring much hope for a rebound, so fantasy owners should look elsewhere if at all possible.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@ Jacksonville)

Tampa Bay allowed 38 points and 385 yards of offense to the Carolina Panthers in Week 13, and have now allowed at least 27 points in four of their last five games. A very favorable matchup is coming for Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are last in the NFL in total offense (254.7 yards per game) and 31st in scoring offense (12.7 points per game) this season. That said, Jacksonville has only turned the ball over three times in their last four games, so there is little upside for opposing defenses other than keeping them off the scoreboard. Despite having one of the more favorable matchups on the board this week, fantasy owners should have no trouble finding a better starting defense than the Buccaneers for Week 14.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

20. Kansas City Chiefs (vs. New York Jets)

The Chiefs held the Chicago Bears to three points and 181 offensive yards last week, as they also intercepted quarterback Caleb Hanie three times and had seven sacks in the game. They have now posted 30 fantasy points (ESPN scoring) over their past two games, propelled by five turnovers forced in that span, and now get another potentially favorable matchup this week against the New York Jets. The Jets are 26th in the league in totaloffense (310.8 yards per game), but they are eighth in scoring offense (24.2 points per game) and have scored 62 points over their last two games. Given how well they have played recently, fantasy owners could find some upside here if they can force multiple turnovers as many Jets’ opponents have this season. That said, there is also a lot of downside here and the Kansas City defense is not worth considering as anything more than a low-end starting option for this week.

21. San Diego Chargers (vs. Buffalo)

The Chargers’ defense, predictably, looked good last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars as they allowed 14 points and just over 300 yards of offense in the game. That said, they did not register a sack and forced just one turnover as they failed to make a fantasy impact yet again. Week 14 brings a tougher matchup against the Buffalo Bills, who are in the top half of the league across the board offensively and still have plenty of talent even without running back Fred Jackson (leg). An overall lack of impact plays has limited the fantasy value of the San Diego defense, as they have only posted seven fantasy points (ESPN scoring) over their last five games. There is not enough reason for fantasy owners to think of this unit as a top tier option this week, but those who are desperate could do worse.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

22. New York Giants (@ Dallas)

The Giants have allowed a combined 87 points and 937 yards of offense over the past two weeks, but that could be expected when facing the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers in thatspan. Week 14 brings another tough matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, who have the NFL’s seventh-ranked offense (385.6 yards per game) and now look likely to get wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring) back for Sunday night’s game. The Giants are 28th or worse in the league in total defense (29th), pass defense (29th) and scoring defense (28th), so a possibly fully-healthy Dallas offense will pose a serious challenge. Fantasy owners should see the downside here, despite the possibility Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo could throw multiple interceptions, and feel free to find a much better starting option for Week 14.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

23. Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. Tampa Bay)

Jacksonville allowed 38 points and 433 yards of offense to the San Diego Chargers in Week 13, as they failed to register a sack or force a turnover in the game. Things will be a lot easier in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who may again be without quarterback Josh Freeman (shoulder) this week and have to turn to Josh Johnson under center for a second straight game. The Buccaneers have turned the ball over 12 times over their past four games, but the Jaguars have forced multiple turnovers once in their last four contests and may not be able to maximize those opportunities. There is some potential upside here, but this unit is far too risky an option for most fantasy owners in a week where it matters most.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

24. Cleveland Browns (@ Pittsburgh)

Cleveland has the league’s top-ranked pass defense (173.3 yards per game), but on the flipside they sit 31st against the run (151.3 yards per game) and are coming off allowing 290 yards on the ground to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13. Week 14’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers brings another team likely to employ a run-first offensive approach, as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is dealing with a thumb injury and they may look to limit his pass attempts. Steelers’ running back Rashard Mendenhall has had a disappointing season to this point, but he could be in line for 20-plus carries and the only other time he has done that this season he had a season-high 146 yards in Week6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Browns look unlikely to see a lot of opportunities to create turnovers on Thursday night, so fantasy football owners can definitely find a better option with a lot more upside for Week 14.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

25. Carolina Panthers (vs. Atlanta)

The Panthers held an opponent to under 20 points for the second straight game last week, as they limited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to 19 points and less than 300 yards of offense with quarterback Josh Freeman (shoulder) out. A significantly greater challenge is coming in Week 14 against the Atlanta Falcons, who scored 31 points against them back in Week 6 as Carolina did not force a turnover and only sacked quarterback Matt Ryan once. Ryan is playing better now than he was back then, so Carolina stands to have trouble containing the Falcons’ passing game as well as running back Michael Turner, who had 139 yards and two touchdowns in the previous meeting. Fantasy football owners can confidently leave the Panthers’ defense on the waiver wire in their league this week.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

26. Arizona Cardinals (vs. San Francisco)

Arizona was able to hold the Dallas Cowboys to 13 points last week, as they sacked quarterback Tony Romo five times. They have shown a lot of improvement in recent weeks, but still have only posted double-digit fantasy points (ESPN scoring) three times all season heading into this week against the San Francisco 49ers. When the two teams played in Week 11, the 49ers scored 23 points and had 431 yards of offense as the Cardinals forced one turnover and did not register a sack in the game. San Francisco does not have an elite offense, as they are just 24th in total offense (315.3 yards per game), but they have been efficient and the Cardinals are unlikely to get many opportunities for fantasy points. Due to the lack of upside here, it’s best to leave this unit alone for Week 14.
Bruno Boys Stars:**

27. Buffalo Bills (@ San Diego)

Buffalo ranks in the bottom half of the league across the board defensively, perhaps most notably they sit 26th in scoring defense (25.3 points per game) heading into Week 14 against the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are coming off one of their best offensive games of the season in Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, as they scored 38 points and had 433 yards of offense in the game. The fantasy value of the Bills defense has been turnover-driven all season, and they have only forced two turnovers in their last four games while failing to post more than five fantasy points (ESPN scoring) in their last five contests. There is no reason for fantasy owners to take a chance on the Buffalo defense this week.
Bruno Boys Stars:*

28. Tennessee Titans (vs. New Orleans)

The Titans allowed 386 yards of offense to the Buffalo Bills in Week 13, but they were able to limit them to 17 points and force two turnovers in the game. Week 14 brings a much tougher matchup against the New Orleans Saints, who are in the top five of the league in total offense (first), passing offense (first) and scoring offense (second) entering the week. Saints’ running back Mark Ingram missed practice earlier in the week with turf toe, but even if he is unable to play on Sunday Tennessee will have hard time containing one of the league’s best offenses. The Titans’ defense has been usable in favorable matchups up to this point, but this week clearly does not present one of those opportunities.
Bruno Boys Stars:*

29. Minnesota Vikings (@ Detroit)

The Vikings allowed 35 points to the Denver Broncos last week, as their secondary made Tim Tebow look like a capable NFL passer and they again failed to intercept a pass in the game. Things stand to be a lot tougher this week against the Detroit Lions, who have the league’s fifth-best pass offense (281.3 yards per game) and quarterback Matt Stafford looked better last week after dealing with a finger injury in recent weeks. Minnesota may also be without defensive end Brian Robison (concussion) for Sunday’s game, putting further strain on a defense that is not deep with talent. This unit has not been usable to fantasyfootball owners for most of the season, and Week 14 will be no different.
Bruno Boys Stars:*

30. Indianapolis Colts (@ Baltimore)

Indianapolis ranks last in the league in scoring defense (29.2 points per game, as well as 28th in total defense (387.1 yards per game) and 30th against the run (144.2 yards per game) so far this season. They will take on the Baltimore Ravens and the NFL’s sixth-best scoring offense (24.7 points per game) in Week 14, and running back Ray Rice is coming off a 204-yard effort against the Cleveland Browns in Week 13 and has 100 or more rushing yards in two of the last three games. The Colts will also now be without cornerback Jerraud Powers (elbow) for the rest of the season, so an already undermanned defense will be hampered even more. Simply put, fantasy owners have absolutely no reason to consider using the Colts’ defense this week.
Bruno Boys Stars:*

31. Washington Redskins (vs. New England)

Washington allowed 34 points to the New York Jets last week, despite allowing just 266 yards of offense as three turnovers by the offense put them in a vulnerable position. This week brings a much more difficult matchup against the New England Patriots, who are second in the NFL in total offense (423.8 yards per game) and third in scoring offense (30.2 points per game) thus far this season. Multiple turnovers from the Redskins’ offense would put this unit in an even worse position than they are already likely to be, so fantasy football owners should have little issue finding a better option for this critical week.
Bruno Boys Stars:*

32. Oakland Raiders (@ Green Bay)

The Raiders allowed 27 offensive points and 362 yards of offense to the Miami Dolphins in Week 13, and they now sit 26th in the league in total defense (373.3 yards per game) heading into a much tougher matchup in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay has the league’s top scoring offense (35 points per game) and ranks fourth in total offense (405.3 yards per game)as quarterback Aaron Rodgers is putting in a MVP-caliber campaign. Oakland’s defense has been able to put together solid fantasy performances this season when they have forced multiple turnovers, but those opportunities look certain to be limited this week and fantasy owners can and should leave this unit alone.
