For the third straight season we are hosting the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Experts League, which includes 12 of the best fantasy football minds in the industry. Our goal by posting round-by-round draft results is to help you get a better idea of how some players are valued among the industry. Plus, it should help you identify trends, gauge Average Draft Position (ADP) and find a few sleepers along the way. The draft started on August 7,2010 and will consist of 16 rounds. Each team is required to start QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, DEF in standard scoring (non-PPR) format. The Bruno Boys are represented by Bruno Boys Cavigs

Two rounds are in the books. Moving forward you will start to see owners using the early middle rounds to focus on their draft philosophy. Some will build their teams around running backs, while others will go with wide receivers. A few will even ditch the whole running back / wide receiver only theory and snag who they feel is the best value on the board. Let’s take look at the results from ROUND 3 of the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Experts League Draft hosted by MyFantasyLeague.com.

Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Pick: When drafting at the turn you don’t have much time to process your thoughts after your pick. Immediately after taking Brandon Marshall at 2.12, I went back to the big board and started debating if I should go with my RB2 or WR2. Based on my cheat sheets the best available options were DeSean Jackson, Cedric Benson, Knowshon Moreno and Sidney Rice. While I like Moreno, and think he can breakout in 2010, his hamstring injury in training camp makes him a slight reach at No.25 overall. Already owning Adrian Peterson that eliminates Rice from the picture. I don’t mind drafting a running back and wide receiver from the same team; however, it would never be with my first three picks. Having eliminated of two of the four possibilities it’s was narrowed down to Jackson and Benson. Both are terrific players, and I even have Benson ranked higher in my top-150 rankings; however with this league starting three wide receivers and only two running backs I feel the need to get my second wide out. With the selection of DeSean Jackson, I now have a one-two punch, in Jackson and Marshall, that should match, if not beat, my opponents’ top two wide receivers.
