A youth movement is occurring at the wide receiver position. In fact, the position has become so dominated by the young guns that seven of the top-10 fantasy football wide receivers from 2008 have yet to hit the big 3-0 (Steve Smith, Terrell Owens, and Randy Moss were the exceptions). As such, you’ll notice a changing of the guard some-what in his year’s wide receiver rankings, with Leapin’ Larry Fitzgerald leaping all the way to the top, followed closely by Houston Texans’ stud, Andre Johnson, while former stud Chad Ochocinco falls out of the top-20 and old reliable, Torry Holt, plummets out of the top-30. 1. Larry Fitzgerald – Arizona Cardinals (Bye: 4)
It would have been intriguing to go inside the mind of Fitzgerald as he was in the midst of outrunning every Pittsburgh Steelers defender to the end zone during his 64-yard touchdown reception in the Super Bowl last season, if only to find out if he was thinking of all the people who have criticized his speed in the past. Rest assured that those critics are silent now. Last season Fitzgerald caught 96 passes and set career-highs in receiving yards (1,431) and touchdown receptions (12). He’s been a model of consistency throughout his five-year career, and has caught at least eight touchdown passes in every season that he’s played a minimum of 15 games.

Ladainian Tomlinson’s reign as the top fantasy football running back has come to an end, but, don’t worry, there are plenty of running backs chomping at the bit to take over the throne. For starters, there’s last year’s top point getter, DeAngelo Williams, who has not one but rather 272 reasons as to why he’s worthy to be No.1; alas, one big reason counters those 272 and his name is Jonathan Stewart. Then, there’s Michael Turner, LT’s former back-up in San Diego, who dominated in his first season as a starter, racking up 1,699 rush yards and 17 TDs as a member of the Atlanta Falcons, but the 377 carries he totaled in 2008 are a cause for concern. So, who is No.1? None other than Mr. Adrian Peterson. Yes, the Bruno Boys would take “All Day” Peterson all day with the 1st overall selection in 2009 fantasy football drafts! 1. Adrian Peterson – Minnesota Vikings (Bye: 9)
Heading into 2009, Adrian Peterson finds himself justifiably atop of the Bruno Boys running back rankings as he produced 233 fantasy points, trailing only DeAngelo Williams and Michael Turner in 2008. The sick thing is that this Minnesota Viking is looking to improve on all aspects of his game, including his ball carrying; a category that definitely hurt his fantasy football value some last year as he had 9 fumbles. He did reach double digit touchdowns with 10 and had a total of 1,885 all-purpose yards.

Injuries to big names (Tom Brady, Carson Palmer, Matt Hasselbeck), the emergence of a new class of QBs (Philip Rivers, Jay Cutler, Aaron Rodgers), rejuvenations (Kurt Warner, Chad Pennington), stellar rookies,
(Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco) and a quarterback in the top 10 that hadn’t started since high school (Matt Cassel), yes, 2008 was indeed an interesting year for the quarterback position.
What’s in store for 2009? Continue reading to find out where the signal callers at quarterback rank in our downloadable Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet.

1. Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints (Bye: 5)
Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints entered last season with high expectations after a strong finish to the 2007 season. And, Brees did not disappoint. Unlike the 2007 season, Brees started last year off on the right foot with eight touchdowns to only four interceptions in the first four games of the year. The Saints, however, did not enjoy the same level of success as Brees did as New Orleans never won more than two consecutive games in the season, finishing the year 8-8.

While the Bruno Boys have worked endless nights to provide you with the most up-to-date fantasy football rankings in our 2009 Fantasy Football Rankings Webazine (click to download), we know that this is not enough. Yes, fantasy football positional rankings are an extremely valuable tool and one you must have on draft day if you hope to contend for your fantasy football league’s championship, but we also know that unless you’re in a quirky league, you won’t be involved in a draft that forces its owners to take a QB in round 1, a RB in round 2, a WR in round 3, and so on. Thus, you need a guide that maps out where certain running backs stack up against certain wide receivers, where tight ends measure with team defenses, etc.
That, Bruno Boys Nation, is where the Bruno Boys 2009 Fantasy Football Rankings Top 150 comes in handy.

It’s never too early to participate in some fantasy football mock drafts. If you’re serious about being a contender to win your league’s title, you should partake in a few mock drafts before your actual draft. Bruno Boys Jimbo recently conducted his own one-man mock draft and each week he’ll post a round from the draft.
To conduct this fantasy football mock draft the following criteria was used: 10-team league, standard scoring (4 points for QB TDs, 6 points for all other TDs, 1 point for every 10 rushing/receiving yards, 1 for every 25 passing yards, -2 points for all turnovers, 1 point for sacks, 2 points for INTs.)
ROUND 1 MOCK DRAFT RESULTS
1.01: RB Adrian Peterson (Min) - The likely acquisition of Brett Favre makes AP a stone-cold lock to be the first overall pick in all drafts. Even if Favre doesn’t sign, he’s still the top choice.
1.02: RB Matt Forte (Chi) - The Chicago Bears’ offense goes where Matt Forte goes. With Jay Cutler now at QB, it should keep defenses honest enough to let Forte have similar success as his breakout rookie campaign
1.03: RB Maurice Jones-Drew (JAX) - MJD is in a similar situation as Forte. With the departure of Fred Taylor, MJD is the cornerstone of this offense and should see plenty of carries and receptions.
1.04: RB Michael Turner (ATL) - Turner the Burner doesn’t look to slow down in ’09. The potent passing attack should keep defenses spread out, and while Turner isn’t likely to duplicate his 2008 totals, he’s still in line for a great season.
