After a long an interesting season we’re finally at the Super Bowl, and wow does it look like it’s going to be a good one. We’ve got two of the league’s most storied franchises, the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, going head to head for the world championship. We’ve got good defenses, good offenses, big-name players on both sides and, most importantly, we’ve two elite quarterbacks. Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger are two very good, yet very different quarterbacks.
Since we don’t believe in an offseason, we’ll be releasing our normal weekly position rankings to help you best decide which players to go with in our Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge. To see where the signal callers rank this week continue reading the Super Bowl Round edition of the Bruno Boys Weekly Quarterback Rankings.

We find ourselves in an odd position entering the conference championship round. Sure there are some good teams left, but where did the quarterbacks go? Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints are all gone. Of course Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers is here, and he’s not exactly a stranger to the conference championship round. Neither is New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, who led the team there as a rookie last year. However, both NFC quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears, are entering new territory. Yet, those two lead our quarterback rankings this week.
Since we don’t believe in an offseason, we’ll be releasing our normal weekly position rankings to help you best decide which players to go with in our Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge. To see where all four of the players rank this week continue reading the Championship Round edition of the Bruno Boys Weekly Quarterback Rankings.

Four more games are the docket this weekend, and holy crap are there are some good matchups. There’s also an interesting dichotomy of quarterbacks left playing. The first group includes experienced veterans Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, Matt Hasselbeck of the Seattle Seahawks and Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Not only are those three veterans but they’ve been battle-tested in the playoffs many times as well. The second group features some of the top young quarterbacks in the league, including Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears, Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets and Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons.
Since we don’t believe in an offseason, we’ll be releasing our normal weekly position rankings to help you best decide which players to go with in our Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge. The first iteration will be the quarterbacks and there isn’t a whole lot of surprise in the rankings. To see where all eight of the players rank this week continue reading the Divisional Round edition of the Bruno Boys Weekly Quarterback Rankings.

::WEEK 17 RANKINGS UPDATED AS OF JANUARY 1, 2011::
Though most fantasy football championships were decided in Week 16, there are still some leagues that waited until the final week of the season to settle on a winner. We are here with you until the end, so we’ve got you covered with some fresh positional rankings, starting off with the Fantasy Football Week 17 Quarterback Rankings.
You’re going to see a lot of familiar names near the top of the list, like Michael Vick of the Philadelphia Eagles, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers, Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints and Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts. Yet there is a surprise when you get to No. 12. Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos, really? Yes, we have Tebow ranked as a QB1 this week.
One thing to take note of, be sure to follow the news on your players all week, especially the ones on teams that have already locked up a playoff spot. You don’t want to play somebody who’s only going to play two quarters or less this week. The following rankings were done with the thought that all quarterbacks will play a full game. We will be updating them throughout the week.
**RANKINGS BASED ON STANDARD SCORING - 1 POINT PER 25 PASSING YARDS, 1 POINT PER 10 YARDS RUSHING, 4 POINTS ALL PASSING TOUCHDOWNS, -2 POINTS ALL TURNOVERS**
1. Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) vs. Chicago
Apparently Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is OK after all. After missing one week because of a concussion, he came back last week against the New York Giants and threw for 404 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. The thing is, Rodgers faces the Chicago Bears defense this week, and the Bears are giving up about 12 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. When Rodgers played at Chicago in Week 3 he threw for 316 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Expect similar numbers the second time around, but with another touchdown as well.

::WEEK 16 RANKINGS UPDATED AS OF DECEMBER 25, 2010::
So it’s championship week, at least for most of the fantasy football leagues out there, and that’s got us excited. Of course we’ve got your Fantasy Football Week 16 Quarterback Rankings to check out, but before perusing the list there are some things to contemplate. Can anybody stop Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick? Which Smith (Alex or Troy) will start at quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, and does it even matter? Is Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joe Webb, who has eligibility at wide receiver in some formats, worth starting as a FLEX if Brett Favre can’t play next week? You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

1. Michael Vick (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. Minnesota
Seriously, can anybody stop Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick? Last week it looked like the New York Giants were doing a good job of it through the first two quarters, however Vick exploded in the second half and finished with 242 passing yards with three touchdowns and one interceptions, and 130 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. The Minnesota Vikings have been pretty good against quarterbacks recently but did give up some big games in the middle of the season. At this point, however, it doesn’t appear that the matchup has much to do with Vick’s fantasy output. The only thing that could stop him from having a big game this week is injury.

::WEEK 15 RANKINGS UPDATED AS OF DECEMBER 18, 2010::
One of the things we love to talk about are the matchups, and there are some quarterbacks that have some excellent ones this week. We get to see Michael Vick’s Philadelphia Eagles face Eli Manning and the New York Giants, Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints take on Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens, and, hopefully, Aaron Rodgers (concussion) of the Green Bay Packers against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Rodgers, coming off a concussion, could miss this week however.
Yet the one matchup that has us excited, perhaps for the wrong reasons, is John Skelton of the Arizona Cardinals against Jimmy Clausen of the Carolina Panthers. This might be the worst pairing of quarterbacks in a single game ever, though it could be worse if JaMarcus Russell found some way to weasel his way into it. Really though, Skelton and Clausen are two rookies and we don’t want to be too hard on them, but this game could feature some of the worst quarterback play we’ve seen in a while. There’s a reason Skelton and Clausen are the lowest ranked quarterbacks for Week 15.

1. Michael Vick (Philadelphia Eagles) @ New York Giants
Even when he’s not at his best, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick still manages to put up a decent fantasy football performance. In last week’s win over the Dallas Cowboys, Vick threw for 270 yards with three touchdowns (one rushing), but he also had two interceptions. Not only that but the Cowboys, for the most part, did a good job of containing Vick. However, Vick has done such a good job of taking care of the football this year, which is something he didn’t do in the past. Vick’s not going to score six touchdowns every game, and there’s going to be games where he’s not at his best. However, right now he doesn’t need to be at his best to be the top fantasy quarterback.

::WEEK 14 RANKINGS UPDATED AS OF DECEMBER 11, 2010::
What in the world is going on with Peyton Manning? The Indianapolis Colts quarterback is a sure-fire Hall of Famer and belongs in the discussion for one of the best quarterbacks of all time. He’s been a rock because he’s been consistent. Yet, over the last three weeks he’s thrown three or more interceptions in each game with a total of 11 picks in that span. Now, it is easy to blame injuries and the lack of a proper running game, but for those who saw Manning against the Dallas Cowboys there is another story. In that game Manning uncharacteristically stared down his receivers at times and other times he lost track of linebackers who had dropped into coverage.
This is a disturbing trend for Manning, but perhaps even more worrisome for his fantasy owners with the playoffs at hand. Continue reading the Fantasy Football Week 14 Quarterback Rankings for more information and a projection on Manning, as well as the other 31 quarterbacks.

1. Michael Vick (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Dallas
As this point in the season you’re just hoping your team isn’t matched up against whichever team in your league has Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. If you’re the lucky guy who got Vick, then good for you. He has a favorable matchup this week against the Dallas Cowboys, who are giving up about 18 points a game to opposing quarterbacks and have allowed quarterbacks to have multiple-touchdown games in five of the last six weeks. Of course, 18 points would be a low projection for Vick given what he’s done in the last five weeks. He’s playing at a higher level than he ever before the whole dog fighting thing happened, and he’ll continue to do so this week as well.

::WEEK 13 RANKINGS UPDATED AS OF DECEMBER 5, 2010::
There are some good games this week, but the one with the largest profile is the Monday Night Football game that features the New York Jets at the New England Patriots. This is such an intriguing game looking at the quarterbacks. New England’s Tom Brady is proven, established, cold and calculated, and can be reserved at times. New York’s Mark Sanchez is young, brash, an improving up-and-comer who’s not afraid to speak his mind or celebrate even the little things. As it stands now we project Brady for a better day than Sanchez, however this is going to be one fun game to watch. We’ll be treated to a bit of the new school against the old school.
Continue reading our Fantasy Football Week 13 Quarterback Rankings to see where Brady, Sanchez and the rest of the NFL quarterbacks rank.

1. Michael Vick (Philadelphia Eagles) vs. Houston — Thursday Night Game
In last week’s loss to the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick threw an interception and fumbled four times. Fortunately for his fantasy owners, none of those four fumbles were lost so his 333 passing yards and two touchdowns were still worth a ton of points. The Bears were able to generate a lot of pressure on Vick, the question is will the Houston Texans be able to do the same this week? Most likely they won’t be able to. The Texans have forced just six fumbles this year, and defensively they are the worst when it comes to defending opposing quarterbacks from a fantasy perspective as they’re allowing an average of about 21 fantasy points per game. It looks like Vick will have yet another big game.

Two of this season’s top gunslingers went at it on Monday Night Football this week. The showdown between Philip Rivers and Kyle Orton probably had a lot of fantasy games riding on their performances. Even with the Chargers’ offense all banged up, Rivers continues to shine. Orton has a plethora of options to throw to, and finally a healthy Knowshon Moreno.
