Over the first 11 weeks of the fantasy football season we teamed up with Fanduel to provide our readers with the first ever Bruno Boys Fanduel Championship (BBFC). During this time, we gave away $8,000 in prize money and the 10 finalists competed for $3,000 in prize money in Week 11.

Now that the BBFC is complete for the 2012 season, it’s time to offer our fans something new… the “Beat the Bruno Boys” challenge powered by Fanduel.

In Week 17 we are giving away $300 IN CASH PRIZES and if you finish in the top-9 you are a winner! This week the competition is just $5 to play and each participant can enter up to five lineups ($5 per lineup).

Register for our Week 17 Contest here. It’s just $5 to play and you can win your share of $1,000…

The final week of the regular season has arrived and with many of the NFL Playoff spots locked up, that makes this the most unpredictable week. Starters could get benched, or only play a portion of the final game of the season. Some players have been shut down for the season due to injury. Inexperience players could get the starts and that means that there are a lot of wild cards in play in the Week 17 Bruno Boys FanDuel Contest. That requires a bit more strategy and some diligence on the late breaking news and inactives list. We’ve got a smaller contest this week and we’ve put a cap of 65 total entries. Only nine entries will share a piece of $300, and each account is allowed a maximum of five submissions. Last week I placed ninth, giving me a small piece of money. That’s two top ten finishes in four weeks and I’d love to close out the season with another.

I’m going to pat myself on the shoulder for finally getting in on the winning action by placing third in the Bruno Boys $1,000 Week 13 challenge. It certainly felt good after laboring each week and sharing with you all of my misery of being unable to pick a lineup that could compete, or just fell short because of one bad decision.

So I’m letting my winnings ride and sticking with my approach in targeting players that not only have great matchups but get high volume carries and targets, selecting a quarterback that will heave the ball a ton, a kicker who will be kicking field goals and a defense that do more than just keep the opposition under 10 points.

While many of you are stressing about making or staying alive in your fantasy football leagues, it’s just another week at the Bruno Boys FanDuel Championship. We’ve kept the stakes the same as last week with $1,000 in total prizes dished out. Players can enter up to five entries and a hard cap of 44 will keep the playing field small. Roughly 20% of the entries will get a piece of the payout so why not play? Here’s how I’m approaching this week.

Want to know why I love week 13? It’s usually the pivotal weekend, the last weekend before fantasy playoffs start. For many owners it can give them new birth, and others the consolation of carrying a clipboard and watching what it takes to get in the winners circle.

Big stakes mean big payouts, and for the Bruno Boys Fan Duel Championship game for Week 13, we’ve raised the stakes to $1,000 in total prizes that will find happy homes to 20% of the entries because only 44 are allowed. So if you put up some big money, chances are in your favor to get big money in return.

We’ve got a big money Bruno Boys Fanduel game in Week 12 and a limited cap of 44 entries, so hopefully you got in for a chance at more cash prizes on this holiday weekend!

The trick this week was seeing so many big performances on Thanksgiving Day, could there still be 20+ point games left on the board? I believe so.

Week 11 of the diary is going to switch it up a bit and honor the 10 finalists playing in our winner-take-all BBFC finals. First I’d like to congratulate all of them, even though I was cursing their names at home. Don’t take it so personal; it was really just me regretting my poor choices, but enough about me. Let’s take a look back at each week and see how each finalist got to the playoff round.

Week 1 Winner: Asaok4 – 174.46 pts.

Before we knew the Falcons were going to shoot off into the NFC lead, the Week 1 gem was Matt Ryan and coupling him with teammate Julio Jones and the two of them accounted for 58.26 points. But probably the move that separated this player from the rest of the field was having also the running back duo of Darren McFadden and Kevin Smith (who has since been forgotten) dropped 41.4 points.

Week 10 of the NFL season is here and it’s the last week to grab a spot in our $3000 Bruno Boys FanDuel Championship playoff. Week 9 was a roller coaster ride of some great thrills, like seeing Brandon Marshall score 34.7 points and Matt Forte score 21.8, but as the afternoon games set in, it was evident that the entries that had chosen Doug Martin were setting the leaderboard.

In all of the scenarios I had played out, I don’t think I would have ever picked Martin as one of my two starters. He was certainly more affordable than the two backs I chose. Money saved there might have allowed me to get the Chicago Bears too. But that’s how Fanduel works. Each decision impacts the others.

This week I’ve assembled a team, mixed with some studs and sleepers. To get them out of the way, I chose the Pittsburgh Steelers at the bargain price of $5,000 and Dan Carpenter as my kicker at $5,200. I couldn’t believe I found the Steelers at such a low price when Kansas City is giving up close to four turnovers a game.
