Plus, it should help you identify trends, gauge Average Draft Position (ADP) and find a few sleepers along the way. The draft started on August 22,2011 and will consist of 16 rounds. Just because the NFL is in the middle of a lockout it doesn’t mean that you can’t start preparing for the upcoming fantasy football season. Comprised of 11 members of the Bruno Boys Fantasy Football Staff and guest draftee Steve Coppola , a member of the Bruno Boys Forum, we bring to you the second of many Fantasy Football 2011 Mock Drafts. This draft will be a 16-round affair based on a points per reception (PPR) scoring league (Pass TDs - 4 points, All Other TDs - 6 points, 25 Yards Passing - 1 point, 10 Yards Rushing/Receiving - 1 point, All Receptions - 1 point). 2011 FANTASY FOOTBALL PPR MOCK DRAFT ROUND 15 RESULTS


15.01: Bruno Boys Rich - Sebastian Janikowski, K, Oakland Raiders — I usually like to draft my kicker in the last round, but knowing I’m not going to end up with anyone special, I figured I’d grab who I think is really the best fantasy kicker in the league. He led all kickers in standard scoring with 150 points last year with the help of 11 kicks from 40+ yards. His big boot makes him as good a bet as anyone to hit from deep for big fantasy points, and the Raiders offense is solid enough to give him enough extra point opportunities. Janikowski is as good as it gets at a position that is as bad as it gets.

2011 FANTASY FOOTBALL PPR MOCK DRAFT ROUND 14 RESULTS


14.01:  Steve Coppola - Ben Watson, TE, Cleveland Browns — Again, not a sexy choice, but as with my previous pick I’m looking for a bye week fill in at tight end Actually I think Watson in a PPR format can be of service. Let’s face it, Cleveland lacks a productive corps of receivers and Watson was the Browns leading receiver in 2010. I don’t think the Browns are gonna vastly improve in the passing game, so Watson could see a lot of drop off receptions and if he can get the football around the end zone his value will soar.

2011 FANTASY FOOTBALL PPR MOCK DRAFT ROUND 13 RESULTS


13.01: Bruno Boys Rich - Plaxico Burress, WR, Free Agent — Rather than take a rookie wideout like Torrey Smith, I decided to take a risk and give Plaxico Burress a “shot” with my Round 13 pick. As long as he catches on somewhere, he should be able to contribute. Burress has had plenty of time to keep himself in shape, and his big body is always a nice target in the end zone. I expect him to become a quality fantasy football wide receiver by Week 6 of the 2011 season.

2011 FANTASY FOOTBALL PPR MOCK DRAFT ROUND 12 RESULTS


12.01:  Steve Coppola - Robert Meachem, WR, New Orleans Saints — As we head into the last stretch of the draft this is essentially my last shot at a wide receiver with some legitimate value. I am very intrigued with Meachem’s potential for a break out season. The Saints are an efficient passing team and he is a veteran with the ability and talent to become Drew Brees’ main target if Marques Colston gets injured. Add to that he is in the final year of his contract and this should bring that extra motivation to Meachem. At the same time I figure the Saints will want to see to him in a full time role to decide if they want to invest long term. Over the past three years Meachem has totaled 101 catches for 1,649 yards and 17 touchdowns. In this offense the sky is the limit if given the opportunity to shine.

2011 FANTASY FOOTBALL PPR MOCK DRAFT ROUND 11 RESULTS


11.01: Bruno Boys Rich - Tashard Choice, RB, Dallas Cowboys — This could be a stretch, but I fully expect Choice to excel in a likely timeshare with Felix Jones, provided the Cowboys have some sense and stop using Marion Barber. Jones is the better back, but Choice ended the season with 205 yards and two scores on just 52 carries in the final five games of the year. Choice is also a nice receiving threat out of the backfield. Call it a hunch, but I think 2011 is the year Choice finally breaks out to become a weekly fantasy starter.

2011 FANTASY FOOTBALL PPR MOCK DRAFT ROUND 10 RESULTS


10.01:  Steve Coppola - Pittsburgh Steelers D/ST — With three running backs and four wide receivers the time is now to fill my starting lineup. There aren’t many position players that jump out at me, so with the No. 109 overall pick I don’t mind being the first to take a top tier D/ST. I’m sure the way this draft is playing out that the defenses will start coming off the board soon, and the Steelers’ defense actually had more fantasy points in 2010 than most remaining players. As a unit, they had 48 sacks, 21 interceptions and ranked among the leaders in all defensive categories. I want to have a D/ST I can rely on weekly and Pittsburgh is an elite unit that can make a difference in the outcome of a game.

2011 FANTASY FOOTBALL PPR MOCK DRAFT ROUND 9 RESULTS


9.01: Bruno Boys Rich - Mike Williams, WR, Seattle Seahawks — Williams had a nice comeback year in 2010, as he hauled in 65 balls for 751 yards despite missing three games. The Seahawks wisely built Williams’ contract based on incentives due to his propensity to get a little hefty in the offseason, so I believe that will motivate him to stay in shape and continue his progression out wide. The big issue with him is scoring opportunities as the Seahawks offense is far from spectacular but hopefully they can address some issues in the draft, or free agency, and put some more talent around Williams.
