We are now three weeks into the fantasy football season, and you should now be getting a good feel for your team and what you can expect from them for the rest of the year. However, remember that injuries can always rear their ugly head, forcing you to make some nifty roster moves, especially with bye weeks also on the horizon. With that said, it’s time to see how injuries from Week 3 have affected the fantasy stratosphere.
Marc Bulger, QB, St. Louis Rams: You likely did not draft him to be your starter, but may have grabbed him to be your backup. If so, dump him now. It looks as though Bulger may be out for the season if the early speculation that his shoulder injury he suffered is indeed a rotator cuff tear. Bulger’s days of being fantasy relevant may be a thing of the past.
Chad Pennington, QB, Miami Dolphins: Another fantasy backup quarterback went down Sunday, as Pennington left his game against the Chargers with an injury to his throwing shoulder. The injury is to the same shoulder he has had two major surgeries on, and it has been determined he has a torn capsule, which means he will miss the rest of the season. Chad Henne will step in for Pennington and could be a decent backup for your fantasy team depending on how his chemistry is with the offense. Take a flier on him to see how he does.

Good morning, Bruno Boys Nation, as we get set for Sunday’s action to kick off, the Bruno Boys are here to provide you with all the latest and greatest injury information (Note: This article will update throughout the day (hit refresh) prior to kickoff as more and more information becomes available to the Bruno Boys)...
QB Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia Eagles) - McNabb will be inactive tfor todays start and in his place will be Kevin Kolb. Kolb should not be used as a QB unless you are in a desperate situation.
RB Brian Westbrook (Philadelphia Eagles) - Westbrook will be inactive for this weeks game. LeSean McCoy gets an opportunity to show his goods as the RB1. McCoy should be a great play against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Every week in the NFL someone from your favorite team comes away with an injury that puts him on the injury report. Same thing can be said with your fantasy football team, as injuries to some of your guys force you to look to your bench earlier than you thought. Time to see which injuries from Week 2 have the potential to make the biggest impact in the fantasy football world.
Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seattle Seahawks: Well it didn’t take long for Hasselbeck to land on the injury report. He left Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers with fractured rib after going 10-18 for 97 yards. The worst part about it, he was diving for a touchdown. Most owners who started him this week likely took a loss, as he did nothing to help in fantasy land. Hasselbeck looks to be be questionable for Week 3 against the Chicago Bears and since you likely drafted him as either your backup or guy who will alternate with another quarterback, you should have a decent replacement on your bench. His injury is similar to Donovan McNabb’s, so missing a couple games is not out of the question. Even if he is healthy enough to play, try rolling with another guy this week to see how he rebounds.

QB Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia Eagles) - Despite doing everything possible to be a part of the Eagles’ week 2 match-up with the New Orleans Saints, McNabb has been ruled OUT for the contest due to the rib injury he sustained in week 1. Kevin Kolb will start in his place; however, he is not a recommended option for fantasy purposes. McNabb’s absence from the line-up leads to a dip in value for the Eagles’ players across the board.
RB LaDainian Tomlinson (San Diego Chargers) - LT’s quest to prove he’s not on the decline isn’t getting off to the greatest of starts as the veteran back will miss the Chargers’ week 2 match-up with the Baltimore Ravens. Starting in LT’s place, will be Darren Sproles, who should be considered as a RB2 option.
RB Pierre Thomas (New Orleans Saints) - According to multiple reports, Pierre Thomas will play today against the Eagles; however, note that the back will serve a limited role. With Mike Bell playing well, the Saints have no real reason to put a heavy workload on Thomas.
QB Matt Cassel (Kansas City Chiefs) - Matt Cassel will start for the Chiefs in their week 2 match-up against the Oakland Raiders. Time for the Chiefs to see if the investment was worthy. If you invested a draft pick on Cassel, though, it’s still not time to see if the pick was worth it. Let Cassel get his feet wet in one week of regular season action before utilizing him for fantasy purposes.

Time to see which injuries from Week 1 have the potential to make the biggest impact in the fantasy football world.
Donovan McNabb, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: McNabb suffered a cracked rib against the Carolina Panthers that could sideline him this week against the New Orleans Saints. Right now, you need to have a backup QB ready because in all likelihood, McNabb won’t be playing. Not only is this week a concern for McNabb owners, but with the news of offensive lineman Shawn Andrews landing on the IR plus Michael Vick coming back in Week 3, McNabb could be losing snaps at times. Sure he is a good quarterback, but with broken ribs, the return of Vick and the loss of one of his best offensive lineman, things aren’t looking so bright for McNabb owners.

Good morning, Bruno Boys Nation, as we get set for Sunday’s action to kick off, the Bruno Boys are here to provide you with all the latest and greatest injury information (Note: This article will update throughout the day prior to kickoff as more and more information becomes available to the Bruno Boys)...
RB Pierre Thomas (New Orleans Saints) - As mentioned in the Bruno Boys Week 1 Risers & Fallers, Thomas has been ruled out for the Saints’ week 1 match-up against the Detroit Lions.
RB Jonathan Stewart (Carolina Panthers) - ESPN is reporting that Jonathan Stewart will play this week. This confirms earlier reports throughout the week that Stewart would be ready for week 1’s match-up against the Eagles. Still, we’d be cautious with the sophomore runner as the Panthers will be sure to ease him back into things slowly.
RB Brian Westbrook (Philadelphia Eagles) - Westbrook seems to always be one of the guys whose status needs to be updated, and 2009 appears to be no different. If you own the Eagles’ running back, get used to visiting this article often throughout the year. The good news is that Westbrook usually plays through pain. He’s a go in week 1, so start him with confidence.

It seems that every year a star NFL player suffers an injury in training camp or in a meaningless preseason game which everyone in the city is flabbergasted about. With that being said it’s time to break down the key injuries around the NFL over the past couple of weeks. I, Bruno Boys Greg, will also determine whether these injuries will have an affect on the fantasy football season.
QUARTERBACKS
Matt Cassel, QB, Kansas City Chiefs: The reports say he has a strained MCL, which is never good. Also, there are conflicting reports on whether he will be able to play by Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens. Hopefully you drafted Cassel as no more than your backup, so you can wait and see how the injury plays out the first couple weeks of the season. With limited weapons in Kansas City, Cassel was already a hit-or-miss fantasy option and if it is the MCL, you may want to stay away from him if possible.
Brett Favre, QB, Minnesota Vikings: Favre looked good on Monday Night Football, going 13-18 for 142 yards against the Houston Texans. The reports of a cracked rib should concern you but not worry you. Favre will never miss a game and has never let an injury get the best of him while on the football field. Despite looking like the Favre’ of old last night you are still going to want to employee him as a backup on your fantasy roster.
