It can be difficult to ascertain how impactful these newcomers can be, so we’ll be discussing the rookie class and their potential impact for us fantasy owners by division over the next couple weeks. Denver Broncos
Quarterback Brock Osweiler was the second of Denver’s pair of second-round picks, but he won’t be playing this season barring an injury to Peyton Manning. However, even if Manning goes down, Caleb Hanie could emerge as the back-up. A guy who will be playing is running back Ronnie Hillman, the team’s Round 3 selection. Starter Willis McGahee is 31 and the team reportedly wants to ease his workload this season. The speedy Hillman could easily emerge as the team’s third-down back if he can get healthy (a hamstring issue caused him to miss the team’s first preseason game). Former first-round pick Knowshon Moreno isn’t even a sure thing to make the team, so don’t worry about him impeding Hillman, a San Diego State product. He makes a decent late-round handcuff if you drafted McGahee early.

Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals made wide receiver Michael Floyd the No. 13 overall pick with the thought that he could help take the pressure off of Larry Fitzgerald, and early indications are that he’s on track to do so at some point during his rookie campaign. The Notre Dame product is 6-2, 220 pounds, has 4.4 speed and good hands, and there’s little doubt he’s going to be a starter by the end of the season in the desert. If the team’s quarterback situation was better, we’d be much more bullish on Floyd, but as it is, we still like him; however not enough to invest in him as a fantasy football starter right out of the gate. He should be late mid-round pick, ideally the fourth or fifth wideout on a fantasy team in a league that starts three, but there’s nothing to be nervous about if you decide to roster Floyd.

Each year there are plenty of rookies that enter fantasy football drafts firmly on the radar of owners, and 2012 will be no different with Trent Richardson, Robert Griffin III, Justin Blackmon, Andrew Luck and Kendall Wright among those taken in the early rounds that are likely to be drafted in many leagues.
That said, there are others that have a chance to be drafted in fantasy leagues but more likely will land on the waiver wire in many leagues. Here is a look at some players, taken in the third round or later in the 2012 NFL Draft, that have the best chance to emerge as fantasy football contributors this fall.

It’s never too early to start analyzing the newest NFL players given that following the Draft they’ve now got places to call home. The top of the draft played out similar to the way it was expected to, with the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins picking their quarterbacks of the future in Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin, respectively. However, there were also some surprises such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trading back but still picking a running back in the first round.
While there were many good picks what we’re focusing on today are top 10 skill position players, the players you’re going to want to look at drafting during your fantasy football drafts. Some should have immediate impacts while others may not possess much value until later in the season, or in some cases keeper leagues.
