If you like fantasy football, you are probably aware of the rising popularity of daily fantasy football. Gone are the days in which you draft in August, manage your season long team until the end of December and hope none of your high draft picks get injured. Instead, fantasy football has seen an makeover and the “cool” thing to do is play daily.  You know, pick your lineup in Week 1, once the games are over you either win or lose and you get to pick a brand new lineup in Week 2. No more being married to your players for 17 weeks. It’s all about speed dating and hoping you get luck on the first try.

We like this style of fantasy football so much that in late August we signed a three year deal with FanDuel.com (the leading provider in daily fantasy sports) that allows us to offer you their salary cap game weekly. Taking things on step further, in 2012 we launched the first ever Bruno Boys FanDuel Fantasy Championship (BBFC) in which fans of the Bruno Boys will be competing for $8,000 in guaranteed prize money over the last 11 weeks of the season. Plus, if you win one of our weekly contests, you get a seat (10 total) in our Week 11 final to be crowned the first ever BBFC champion and win over $1,000.

Strategy is the key to success in FanDuel. You get $60,000 to start a QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K and DEF. Each player has a dollar amount and you need to put together what you think is the winning lineup. You can go cheap at one position and expensive at others or you can spread your money out evenly throughout all positions. There are many ways to play this game, however one thing is for sure… if you don’t look for bargains you are not going to be able to put together a winning lineup.  So with that in mind, let’s take a look at some bargain buys in Week 1 using FanDuel generated salaries.  And while you are at it, sign-up for our Week 1 Freeroll now:  Bruno Boys FanDuel Week 1 Championship ... you will be hooked!
