Martavis Bryant, WR, Oakland Raiders
With Amari Cooper being shipped off to Dallas, Martavis Bryant is next in line for extended looks on a struggling Raiders offense. Bryant is slated to start opposite of Jordy Nelson going forward which makes him an intriguing player to watch as he offers an incredible size/speed combination.
Bryant has been long on potential but short on… well, brains to put it simply as he’s always been one of his own worst enemies. Dating back to his time in Pittsburgh, Bryant has struggled staying on the field and producing due to a combination of suspensions and poor work ethic. While Jon Gruden likely will not be Bryant’s muse who shows him the way to enlightenment, he is willing to give Bryant opportunities and that’s worth something.
Bryant showed his potential upside ability in Week 5 turning only 3 catches into 91 yards. With the Raiders losing workhorse Marshawn Lynch to a multi-week injury, the passing game will likely need to step up to fill in the production void. Bryant is a player I would try and grab and stash everywhere who offers every week WR3 value with weekly WR1 upside as a boom or bust option.
